I think the next 20 years will be more “interesting” than the Cold War ever was. Too many players. 😮
Please, I have enough nightmares as it is :diablo:
But you are right, to manny playes in the big game, to many players looking for a big “At Bat”.
I just wana say, for sakes sake, I know there isn’t any PAK-FA “lite” on the drawing boards, i was making a generalization on how economies go,…………
To the rest? I like how you bolded ” a strike on the motherland”, since they were my own words and I never said them in direct context to new aircraft, I am a son of parents who grew up learning duck and cover drills, believe me, the last thing I am worried about it the US and Russia getting into a nuclear exchange……….
( I Know enough not to give a s h i aaaaaaaat at that point lol)
Please, do me a favor echonine, i forget the thread on the Naval Forum, but i told a American to STFU over the latest sub incident cause it had nothing to do with the convo…more than dirty laundry. I’m not askin ya to like me, but give me the benefit of the doubt lol. Thats all 🙂
Good, I love to hear it, even from a trade magazine. Nothing like a kick in the pants to get you’re crap all lined up, thanks for the French Connection. 🙂
Ok, I apologize if you have been drinkin from the Starbucks *******s coffee cups….. I was just trying to have a simple convo…..But, It seems I can not have one with ya.
No where was I prescribing a strike on the motherland, you are the one that brought that up. No where did i ever put down Russian forces, I never did and never will. “Better to overestimate ones enemy than underestimate” is what I say.
Honestly, I got involved in a convo I should never have bothered with, I knew where it was going, but thats ok, I tried my best. Good luck yo ya and your respective country, I notice you don’t have it listed…
Oh, and btw, before ya try to bash me, look at my post on the top of this very page….it may tell ya I ain’t bashin Russian stuff whatsoever, but its up to you, otherwise, have a good 1
And how many fighters could the RUSAF put up to counter those 200 F-16s and 200 Subpar hornets? I’m not picking a fight with you per say, im simply looking at this as a possibility.
And who’s idea is better? Major SAMs all over, or Fighter coverage? I don’t know, im sure the sims have been played in the Pentagon and Kremlin millions of times over, I was just looking at it as a mental exercise.
1 F-16? of course not, but as we all know, the US doesn ‘t send 1 F-16 alone…
And may I add, I was looking into the full powers of the AD kit for both sides, and their respective modes of AD.
Stop the dirty sandbagin, it has no place here, as much as I wana see the USN rule the seas for the next 200 years, it has no place here
Ehhh, short of a WWIII the F-16 will do just fine, the F-35 even better. No one, well not me, is putting down Russian AD, but there comes a time where “back doors” are always found. Personally, I’ve found the the question between
1) SAMS
2) Fighters
For Air Defense, beyone all the east/west crap, has anyone come to a logical conclusion? WHat are you better off with? (with all things being equal)
Hope and six bucks will buy you a coffee at Starbucks. 😉
Let’s hope that aint $7.50, those *******s are a ripoff :diablo:
Lets just admit, on both sides, what this is.
Cold War II, lets see who will wince first, no more, no less. I am not personally worrying about Russian ICBMs coming over the pole, as should no Russian…..This is nothing more than typical Cold War posturing………but being that, I know whose side I stand on and I have no problem saying that.
IOC for the PAK-FA is 2013, and assuming things are on schedule – especially with the new powerplant and radar, this date is fairly realistic.
There is also no need to develop a “cheaper” jet – as I’d bet the PAK-FA will be cheaper to operate than even the overpriced F-35.
No disrespect, but wait till the real world of economics hits Russia, they’ll be bulding PAK-FA “lite” aka F-35 type. Nothing against Russia, its just the way it is.
BTW, before anyone blast me I have admitted im a US citizen first, love the F-22, seen it fly/turn and burn, but have given the Russians credit wheres credt due, which is in a lot of places, which any blind person could see.
ID love to see a Su-27 ‘series” fly in the states around me someday, she is a graceful bird, least on the ground, helluva lot better lookin than any Eagle.
OK, as an American, I have glossed over a lot of these Typhoon/Rafale threads, being that they seem to end up in an American style pissing contest.
But, and I would love to hear from French airmen or people that know them (or in the know), how was the French Navies experience on the US carrier? I just got Air Forces Monthly here, where they did a whole writeup on the subject, and it seemed as if everyone for lack of a better term, went “business as usual”.
I, for one stupid redneck, would love to hear from some Frenchmen, good or bad. Obviously, we are going to have differences of opinion, but besides that, how about that carries ops themselves?
Honestly, I hada chuckle on the hole SuperHornet/Rafale thing……..quite funny to me…..
(I think the SuperHornet — all the avionics completely SUCKS……..but then again, as long as she can get the job done…
Then again, put the SuperHornets systems on a Rafale, and I think you would have an AWEsome USN fighter/bomber…….but then again, what do I know? 🙂
The donor heart came from a 22 year old lad from Sydney..the doctor that harvested the organs said it was Rolls Royce of a heart..so it’s got quite a few miles left on the clock.. so a little sweet indulgence now and then shouldn’t hurt
Good for u buddy, good times ahead of ya, I’ll “cheers” to that 😀
Live life to its fullest is what I say 🙂

Ok, to put it bluntly, as a “redneck”, I appreciate my allies especially Great Britain. We may all have different opinions, but we all have the same “end game” in mind.
Thats just me, but I want to say I love my European Cousins.
BTW, Could someone point me towards a good book that really truly explains why GB and the US became such ” buddy buddies” so soon after the revolution?
PS: I know it took “some” time, but holy crapola, this relationship, to me, cemented overnight.
