Here here SOC. Hell i thought u were my age, but seeing u were in GB in the early mid 80s i doubt it. But, i will say i come here for a lot, A LOT of great info, and also for the “BS” fights that go on. Personally, i think everyone needs to take a chill pill whatever that pill may be. So there my be some jackasswes that are constantly stirrin the pot? WHO CARES? ignore them or have fun with them, its that simple.

SOmeone once told me, nothing is offensive till I allow it to offend me…..

OK, maybe I am crazy. But, did the USAF intentionally scew up the “bidding” process in order for Boeing to win ( i know about the leasing scandal, im looking after that)……as in welll ” WE pick NG/EADS…..etc etc……decision gets overturned etc etc, USAF is forced to buy the KC-767………..

I dont care what hapens, i just want some new dam tankers. However, is seems as if the NG/EADS offer is better for a lil more money…….so thats where I personally think we should go. Then again, im an uneducated carpenter, ill let the USAF screw them ownselves up lol

PS: sorry for any spelling/grammar mistakes

So, yes, M0.7-0.8 performance still matters as much as its phenomenal accelerationfon.

I have to say, the one thing i was most enthralled with when it comes to the F-22 is its ability to go from a very slow speed maneuver to “high-speed”…..if nothing else that just showed me, as an idiot bystander, an idea into its thrust to weight ratio. I just found it amazing, that one second it seems as if the F-22 is in a controlled flat spin, and the next second(s) its powering away from it.

I say this never having seen a Su-27 in person, but to my untrained eye, there is a lot, A LOT, of thrust available to a F-22 pilot.

Lets just remember war has changed, the Geneva convention, IMHO, has no bearing at this point. It was set up to shelter civilians from both sides, but if one side is willing to use civilians well then, bomb them and say Ur hail Marys later

Being used mostly as a tanker these days, I bet the crew on the S-3 decided to stop over to buy up some cheap go juice since its so expensive in the US these days….that is until GWB found out and had them “expired” on landing.

Oh, did I mention I write for counterpoint? :p

Are you seriously telling me they get smuggled across the border and live in god knows what kind of conditions when they get here yet think they’re obeying the law? Or are you saying that 12 million people are unaware of the concept of taxes?

No, I was speaking generally of the whole idea of “tax evasion” and Arthur’s comment how it is like the national pastime of the average american and our fear of the IRS…..

Hence is why I said its not evasion unless you intentionally evade the tax code. Theres nothing wrong with using the tax code to your advantage.

Well I agree with ya Arthur, the US cant have it both ways. But Id be very careful calling it exploitative labor. Quite frankly, they are here for a reason, we do not kidnap them and make them work for their money. And, truth be told, many places do pay them pretty well for the jobs they do, and the quality of the job.

I’m in the trades and I see it everyday and it drives me crazy. Its not because of some deep hatred or racism inside of me, but because I see these hard working guys, that with a little more education, could become excellent tradesmen and citizens. But, that would entail someone wanting to become a full fledged citizen, and a government not allowing them to stay second rate. It is, quite frankly, a really screwed up situation.

Tax evasion? Its only tax evasion when you intentionally break the law, not when you abide by the rules set forth by the same idiots who scream they don’t have enough, after you’ve paid. (They (IRS/US FEDS) may not agree with me, but those who judge cant cry when they don’t get what they want, or think they should have, because the law allowed me to do just what I did.)

Anyways, back on topic. This is pretty troublesome, I guess it could go only 1 or 2 ways. Either most F-15Cs are retired with no replacements whatsoever. Or, this is just some political ploy to buy more F-22s because of an “intentional” shortage of capability, after all, that would get votes in certain members districts.

    Yes, call me a cynic.

Well let me just quickly say that as a hunter, the one thing that annoys me even more than “anti-hunters” are hunters that shoot and leave something to rot, or not to eat it. Obviously, there are times when you may not eat something, but many times they just want the horns or something, and that really annoys me.

But, there are grey areas, such as game management when it comes to lions and tigers etc etc, Im not sure if they taste good or not quite frankly, but from a management standpoint they have to be taken care of. But a deer? Please…..some of the best tasting steaks Ive ever had have come from a nice buck or doe, theres no need to just shoot one and leave it.

ahh bahhh humbug, the easter shore/rt 113 sucks, as long as you can haul ass(BIG if) on 95 ill be there in no time. Ive done the eastern shore (beautiful country I might add) trip/bay bridge route a few times, to me, its a complete tossup. But then, when all hell breaks loose, I know the “other” way 🙂

OOO yeah, on the note about DC (I agree with ya, I wont tell ya what finger I showed the captiol the last time) But, theres an exit off of southbound 95 (Greenbelt i believe its called) that is only use for northern commuters. Its great theres no one on the weekend, get off 95, park, get the dc metro, and after you go through security and get on the bus, your in the show, but other than dealing with the traffic on 95, which it seems you know, is ever present, its a piece of cake.

Well hell if the F-22 isnt gona be at the McGuire air show, Ill forget it. When is the Langley airshow in june? last time I was down there it was late april, early may (reason I remember the Richmond NASCAR race was the same weekend, I-95 was worse than any steven king novel). But as long as it isnt the first week of june (WWII weekend in Reading PA, planes, tanks, jeeps, encampments, a lot of fun) Ill head down there, its only a 6 or so hour drive 🙂

Oh, btw, are you going to the Andrews joint open house SOC? just wonderin, ill be headed down “fingers crossed”.

Here here Bring it on I just felt like making a response to Roffe in reguards to taxpayers and whatnot. Personally, I think we should have 400 F-22s and 2000 F-35As plus naval and marine corp JSF’s, but then again I am not in charge of congress. (should be though, my buddy and I have figured after a few beers we have figured out all of our major problems, but that discussion definitely belongs in the GD thread on a whole nother forum haha )
