First, Id like to inform you, 1MAN, that GarryB is probably one of the largest, most influential pro-Russian peoples on this forum…… id be careful with who you disagree with.
And GarryB, while i may and usually disagree with you 9 times out of 10, i respect ya, for the most part u dont get into the mine is bigger than yours debates. (understandably its sometimes hard to stay away from).
Second, dont belive the western media when it comes to definite military things…….Ive seen them confuse F-15s with F-14s for godsakes…….
And this whole thing, the RUSSIANS overfly a CBG is getting old……….Its old hat, the bomber, or MPA in this case was identified early on etc etc…..ZThis is just training………
Oh And 1MAN, if the so called, “WWIII” is coming, i pray for you, your family, mine, and everyone elses……….this is nothing, i repeat, NOTHING any country wants under any circumstance, even us evil Americans.
Quite frankly, personally, I feel we should get the Russians and Chinese involved more in the middle east……..therefore……….promising a good supply of oil to all of us, but thats just my non-educated ass. From all sides that is.
Lou Dobbs has the most popular show on CNN and this is how his website reports the story:
Before one dismisses Dobbs, remember that he played a leading role in stirring up the successful grassroots opposition to the Dubai Ports World deal in 2006 and the immigration bill in 2007. Judging by the news story comments I’ve read and the calls to radio shows I’ve heard, his opinion is in the majority.
So this is shaping up as a major story and it might become a campaign issue. Even if it isn’t a major issue nationally, it could sway the election one way or another in Kansas, where Boeing is the single largest employer, and in battleground industrial states such as Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, where outsourcing is a hot issue. In purely political terms, the only way the timing of the decision could have been worse would have been an announcement in late October.
Dobbs is nothing more that a populist/protectionist…….While I agree with him on the Immigration bill, id be careful to say he was the most important person to bring it to the forefront………I would have to believe that would be the conservatives, or classic liberals, in this country. The Dubai ports deal was a political sham, and If anything is done to axe this contract with NG/EADS it’ll be more the same, politicians getting involved with things they have no clue about, and yes, that includes economics.
Tarriffs…..Snoot-Hawley…..WHAT? SHEEESHSS some people need to learn some basic economics……..let along the fact the the US doesn’t make everything that goes BANG in the world, imagine that.
As I said before, this is a win-win for everyone, especially the USAF. Now, if we could just get these pea-brained politicos back onto more important subjects such as steroid use in major league baseball and other egregious ways to waste, I’m sorry “make good use of taxpayers money”,……we can get some new tankers in the air and have at it.
Please you guys are hilarious……
Whatever the Russians come up with will be a dam good plane…..on the same lines as the F-22/F-35…..probably not as good (sorry I will always be an evil American), but still a dam good plane, nothing to be sickened or sorry about. The one thing I have personally always admired about the Russians is they seem to always do more with less, its just my opinion but thats how i see it and I commend them for that. Now, im no Russian lover, i find their history and literatue very interesting……but other than that ill stick with where i was born……but honestly, can we stop with childish bs untill the final product is at least unveiled? I mean then at least we can say it looks like crap, should fly like crap, bad avionics etc etc…… but until then, why dont we all chill and have a nice drink of whatever our hearts desire in a refreshing adulty beverage 🙂
of the 727 F-15 only 227 are F-15 C/E and only 18 have APG-V2 (ASEA) radar, the other 500 are F-15 A/B (obsolete) in 2008
only around 350 F-16 Blk 40-60 are in the USAF the other 600+ are F-16 A-B’s obsolete
what are ya gonna say now, thats wrong the entire F-15/16/18’s are ALL upgraded to only “ONE” standard????????
with all due respect i know, without research, there are approximately 200 F-15Es on the books, so im sure there are more than, for the sake of the argument…..30 F-15Cs also on the books……which blows ur 227 number out of the water quite frankly…..
Also, I know there are more that 350 Blk 40 or 50 F-16s in service, and the reason i know you are wrong is the USAF has no, an no intention of, buying f-16 Blk 60s at the moment……….please, as much as i will agree with ya comparing the old USSR to the USA, please get the numbers straight……it will be one less thing for any troll from either side to use in defense of either side.
yes just what the US needs, another “gun toting hick thing” out in the international news…
However, as a US citizen i find that pic and caption hilarious, actually, if it were true, buddies of mine and I would be trying to figure out how to out fool it lol. 😀
OK what i have to say is simplistic at most……..Congrats on NG and EADS on winning the contract, they had the better airframe to perform the desired job…
As for the US electorate, with all due respect to my European cousins, but in all honesty, i don’t believe any electorate is any more sensible than any other….therefore, for the time being, lets keep politics out of this, competition wise, the better aircraft/team won……THANK GOD, it was time for a change.
All in all i think this is a win win for the US and the EU and anyone who disagrees would be better off crying elsewhere……Cause I don’t wanna hear it. :diablo:
So your problem is not with illiteracy, but with the standard of literacy not being high enough for you?
Remember an article published in our local paper in which the writer droned on about how kids today have got no idea, about the hardships the children no longer have to put up with, about their lack of respect for parents, teachers, the law etc etc. Their use of foul language, laziness, etc etc. The most amusing part was that the article was first published in the 1700s…
Sounds like something a certain well know individual wrote even longer ago….
The children now love luxury. They have bad manners, contempt for authority, they show disrespect to their elders…. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties at the table, cross their legs, and are tyrants over their teachers.

Not to change the subject, but here in the states there have been a few people involved with the educational system who believe math is what the pupil deems it to be. If a student says 2 + 2 =5, well so be it, he/she will realize their mistakes in time and “hopefully” correct it.
Now I understand mathematics for the most part, unlike language, is completely written in stone. But i believe there are a lot of similarities between the “dumbing down” of grammar/language and this phony baloney math.
With that said, I went to a private catholic school for 13 years of my education, and the two main areas that were constantly drilled into our young skulls full of mush was English (language/grammar) and mathematics (of course religion class was an important part, but thats outside the realm of this discussion :p ). But since I have left school and with the use of computers/calculators, I will admit my grammar and mathematical skills, at best, aren’t what they used to be.
In reality, I believe the question is is a society better off being based on a basic set of rules, whether it be grammar or morals etc etc, or is a society better off with less basic rules as long as everyone “gets along”?
Lastly, I wish to apologize to anyone offended by any grammatical errors I committed in this post 😀

While true, this seems counterintuitive, unless the F-22 is going to be supercruising faster than we’ve been let on and/or maneuvering hard at high altitude in dry thrust (makes us wonder, as intended). And as for altitudes of 60K+ feet, that must be in regard to future applications of the F119 other than the F-22, unless the pilots are going to start wearing pressure suits, I’d imagine.
If i rememeber reading correctly the F-22s were cleared to fly above 50k feet without pressure suits, i forget the number that was put out for the Upper limit, but i do remember something about over 50k.
The Raptor demo should also be at the Andrews AFB show also for those of us in the northeast, ill probably head to both :diablo:
Whats really funny about the story of the Iraqi Air Force Cessna is some of the comments on the blog where the story aired online, on Tampa Bay Online.
Not that I would want to give any non-Americans any more fuel to look at us as completely nuts, but you have to check out the blog, its hilarious, yet sad and ridiculous at the same time.
The western media is biased and the laws are full of hypocrasy, let me again give you a quick list of contradictions refute them if you can:
7) In the US several states have restricted funeral protests from anti-gay Christian protesters who have said the soldiers killed in recent conflicts such as in Iraq died because they were gay. The states gives “a constitutional right to state their opinion” but have curbed these nevertheless.
if the above examples arnt good enough for you Il get anothr 8 if you really want to compare the hyporasy. Muslim countries never have championed supporting freedom to express, the west has.
I think you may have hit on a very interesting point here……
In the US, freedom of speech is protected under the first amendment of the constitution…….Basically what It says is the government may not interfere with any speech you may want to say…..However, while we do have the freedom of speech, we do not have the right to be heard…..2 completely different issues.
And whats funny is, we hear how “Christian” the US is, all us nut jobs and our crosses…..however, some sick idiots using the name of God to rail against gays at a military person’s funeral have now been shut up…..not because we care what they say, but because we have some respect for the dead and families in this country. Quite frankly i think its absurd to have to pass a law in order to curtail this… these idiots could quickly be rounded up, ran over, whatever and dealt with by, ehmmmmmm, personal means. As a matter of fact, there was a group of bikers (motorcyclist) that were going to go to the funerals to make sure these people were kept away thank god, and quite frankly, i don’t care how they did it.
I especially like you last statement…..Are you trying to say because the Muslim world hasn’t championed freedom of speech, they can not be hypocritical…..only the west can? Please, Ive heard this same argument over and over again, such as minorities cant be racist because they don’t have the power to institute their racism……and with all due respect this/these ideas are just hogwash.
Reminds me of the old problem of being new parents. “Well I’m not gona tell little Johny he cant do this or that, because I did the same things and id be a hypocrite for telling him that.” Is that really being a parent? I think not, its idiotic liberal bs. And we wonder why children these days are such a pain the the rearend………
And, when you will all like to condemn the US for incarcerating people who haven’t done anything, just planning or doing something stupid…….ill agree to a very fine line, this is a debate within the US not just on one side, but also on the hard right side, because we question the “power of the government”. However, I once heard a very interesting quote…”The Constitution is not a suicide pact”….and ill leave it at that.

The relevance of that is in the negative numbers. 😮
If I think a steak served to me is garbage, I need to be a chef eh?
Ha Ha Ha……i wish i had a really witty line right now but i decided its not worth my time……
Both sides f*&ked up, big time……..however, i have to say i dont believe the USS Vincennes was within visual range when it launched, what was the deal with the KAL shootdown? justa question from a logical, rational american who doesnt trust his own government….:p
