Then read it again. With a dictionary by your side. Or else, get a couple of more years of schooling. And Please take some world history and geography courses while you’re at it.
Garry,
With regards to supporting Saddam, I think there’s a difference between what France and Russia did on the one hand, and US actions on the other. France and Russia conducted a business transaction whereby they provided military hardware to Iraq at exorbitant prices and lined their pockets in the process. which although unwise, wasn’t totally unexpected, nor in contradiction with their own stance on the issues. With the US however, it wasn’t a cash for weapons transaction. They aided and cooperated with this man, despite all his crimes and his “threat” to peace and the world community in the hope of furthering their political interests. It wasn’t untill things started going south that he became an uncontrolable mad man, and footages of the Kurdish villages being gassed (shot by Iranians in 87 already) started being shown on TV to shock the American People.

What surprises me is how Americans view themselves as agents of freedom, justice and democracy in the world. That is, of course, until American interests are involved. And then everything goes out the door. Because America stands for freedom, justice and democracy, in the world. That is until American interests are involved…
I wonder how Phantom, Scooter, Vortex and other Americans on this board, would qualify a country or government that actively engages in helping and abetting a very brutal, dangerous and threatening dictator, whom we shall call Sad Dumb, who is such a threat to world peace and to it’s neighbors that it has actually invaded one of them in pursuit of territorial gains?
This anti-democratic ghoul is such a monster that he brutally suppresses his own people, kills and tortures the families of those who say anything against him in the most nightmarish fashions, and he keeps his people from the most basic types of freedoms, which are so close to heart of the US, that it has made them the criterion to judge other countries by.
Furthermore, not only does this animal have the distinction of being the only head of government since WWI to routinley use Chemaical weapons and and nerve agents against the country that is the object of his aggression. But he has had no qualms about repeatedly using WMDs aginst his own , defenseless population.
Now judging by American standards, i would expect nothing less than a courageous and resounding “EVIL”. But since i’m a peaceful man, no bombs please.
P.S. Have you seen man after being hit by chemical weapons?
