My opinion is that although the forum is nowhere good as it use to be, it’s still something for nothing, therefore I cannot complain.
I read considerably more than I post now.
Sorry please Ignore /delete this thread, didn’t spot that it is covered previously, apologies for this.
Forgot the photos!
A couple of photos I published years back which I will bounce back again on this thread. I am trying to identify the following control wheels in my collection.
First one is a real old timer probably 1910-1920? Acquired it in France.
Second one is British, it has slight remnants of green paint as found in WW2 cockpits as well as pre WW2. I guess the large centre hub was for some sort of brake mechanism or lever. Any suggestions as to which type of aircraft they may have originated from would be gratefully received. I have been through the usual standard suspects etc.. Thanks in advance.
As always great work visotka1, nice item.
Arrived in the post today from our friend Eugen in Russia is this beautifully restored old control wheel from an Ilyushin 12 airliner/transporter. Eugen forum name flatter99 still has control wheels for sale, so drop him a message if you are interested in expanding your collection.
Sad news indeed, I do hope at least they can save a section of the cockpit, isn’t it modified from a Boeing B377 stratocruiser / B29?
My thoughts are that it this forum is nowhere near as active or good as before. However I appreciate that it’s something for nothing so content with what I’ve got.
Glad to of helped, once I get the date of next years Kenley aerojumble I will post it on here.
