Any debrief from anyone on how this event went? Thanks in advance.
Emotional appeal as opposed to rareity normally wins the day when it comes to prices. For example Lancasters and Spitfires built in their thousands which everyone seems to have an affinity too will command much higher prices than other aircraft built in much smaller numbers.
Indeed a very good find. There’s a jumble at Old Sarum, wilts, tomorrow. There will be a couple of sticks there but no guarantee of a lightning example!
Not that golden Ann Summers grip I hasten to add? Lol.
Unfortunately I won’t be there but Happy hunting to all for tomorrow, hope it goes well.
Stumbled across this 45min documentary on youtube concerning a FedEx MD10. Worth watching if you have the time, just goes to show that you cannot prepare for every eventuality.
Love the DC-8, had the pleasure of flying on a Spantax DC-8 60 series many moons ago returned back home on a Spantax CV990. If only charter flights still offered this type of variety against the sterile A320’s.
Not sure if I ever posted this one? Nimrod MR4 from the same Polish Supplier, he was selling these last summer. We spent billions protecting our shores from the Warsaw Pact and then lo and behold we sell our surplus stock to them! You will find that he is willing to do deals next time you see anything advertised.

The Halifax column on Craigslist belonged to me – it is pictured on my carpet at home. It was sold on ebay a few years ago and went to a genuine collector in the US. Someone has taken the picture off ebay and the rest is history. I did try contacting the seller on Craigslist. I got his number but he told me there was no point ringing him as he had just had some dental work done and could not speak!
Well worth avoiding that one…
Interesting, thanks for giving everyone the heads up on this.
Good day out at Popham aero / auto jumble today, I think the weather which was good can certainly make or break such an event like this. There were a few aerojumble stores, nothing if great significant interest, but enough aero stores to make the trip worthwhile. Good to see that the Antonov 2 was fired up and the radial engine left ground running for all to enjoy and hear. Old Sarum aerojumble is next in the Calender I believe.?
GYD . I agree, for me the presentation of the grips are a bit too sterile and as you rightly state provenance is not well established. But hey ho one persons taste is not a reflection of another’s. Personally I would prefer a few knocks and dust on my yokes as if they have lived. Thought the site may interest some however, anyone got any other sites they wish to share ? I have linked others in previous post to this thread.
Replica grips and yokes wil become a worrying problem soon in years to come as they pass hands and the original provenance (i.e genuinely sold as a replica) gets long forgotten. Advancement in machinery and technology sometimes make these items hard to distinguish apart.
May interest some, came across this web site selling grips and yokes. No prices advertised though.

Appeal and Information on a Vulcan grip which has been stolen in case it gets offered to a collector (I appreciate that there are quite a few of these about).

Just a reminder that the next aerojumble for 2015 is around the corner, this time Popham on the 4th May 2015, Bank Holiday Monday. Hope the weather behaves! A good event combined with classic cars and aircraft passing through the aerodrome.
