Mira your collection stole the show, well done!
Any new airshow must be welcomed, not an easy task to organise. I wish them well for next year, obviously they will take on board this years comments and experiences.
Any interior shots?
Nice one Tom.
Traffic was an utter disgrace!!
Gave up and turned around at 15.30 after 5 and a 1/2 hours queuing.
Shambles.
Oh dear! Sorry to hear this after a promising new air show
Welcome Mira to the forum and thanks for your information. We look forward to seeing pictures of your collection.
Nice Vulcan panels Ian, lots of hard work no doubt but well done!
Just moments ago I took a telephone called from a person calling themselves ‘John Newson’. Number withheld, but caller claims they were ‘currently on a boat in the Channel’ and that their mobile was out of action so they were unable to give me their number.
Caller asked ‘Would I be interested in buying some bits of the Dornier 17?’
Upon enquiring ‘Which Dornier?’ I was told: ‘The famous one!’
Caller claimed that he had some people coming across from France who had recovered parts. Stated they were MG17s (sic), oxygen bottles and several instruments.
Upon telling the caller that I wouldn’t be interested but maybe the RAF Museum would the caller said he ‘had several museums interested’ and would call back this afternoon.
Hmmmm……!
I have informed Ian Thirsk at Hendon. Sounds mightily odd, to me.
Not a red herring is it?, with so many pieces for disposal you should have offered him a pitch at Shoreham.
Now, for the next project just need to find that DE Havilland Flamingo that ended up in the Hanger at Redhill.

Great news that the Medway Raes will now restore this rare bird. I have seen this aircraft over the years stored at Redhill and hats off to the previous owner Alistair who has always had it stored in a hanger safe and dry well away from the harsh weather and out of harms away. Total opposite to the Goodwin sands Dornier project! Good luck Rochester..
Here’s something no=one has yet thought about, Cosford already has the aircraft that shot the Dornier down, Defiant L7005, or at least a FSM of that aircraft, or at least the Defiant which has a one in three chance of having shot it down. L7005 was flown by Sgts Thorn and Barker on that day, and they claimed 2 of the six Dorneirs claimed by No.264 Sqd. in that action, and were then in turn hit in the coolant system by a Bf.109, which Barker also shot down as Thorn was force-landing. L7005 was the top scoring Defiant, its various crews claimed 12.5 victories, which is why the Boulton Paul Association chose to paint their FSM as that particular aircraft. It is now in store at Cosford, dismantled. What an incentive they have to place it on display next to the Dornier
Great idea!

For those whp cannot afford a cockpit nice Percival Pembroke instrument panel for sale item number 151051749898
Hi Ian, yes sorry I acquired the Vickers Varsity too. The recent Comet yoke I did not win on ebay. The P61 yoke is nice too but does not fall within my collecting field, the owner of the site selling it I have traded with in the past and he is always up for a swap if you have anything to tempt him, however he will only be interested in yokes and not sticks.
Mark I will send you an email to see if we can get your switch fixed.
Mark, if you PM me regarding the left side PTT switch, I just need your email address and ultimately a photo of the switch you already have in place on the Valiant yoke. Yes the device in the middle of the Viscount yoke is a tally counter.
Ian the Nimrod yoke column was from a private deal conducted some months prior to Popham, in fact I had acquired two but both have since been sold. I decided to sell primarily in order to raise some funds for some civilian yokes I am currently acquiring from the US. As we all know space can be a premium and to have two whole columns in the house became a little awkward and difficult hence another reason or the sale. They were nice columns though as I am sure Mark will agree.
