Oh well, at least it landed at the right airport. It’s well documented on this and other forums of aircraft landing at the wrong airports or even wrong countries. Pam Am 707 at Northolt airport was one good example.
Great airport, are the Embraer jets gradually taking over the BAE146’s now? Or are the 146 still thriving at the airport.
Likely to glow a bit?

Most of the instruments look pretty much okay with regards to things glowing in the dark. This is probably because most seem to be cold war era asi, roc, t&s etc and most likely not true to the original panel.
The name “clipper” was this used on 707 ‘ s only or did all the aircraft start with the phrase ” clipper” and what exactly does this word mean?
I will look forward to this program. After the coca cola motif the PAn AM world emblem was the second most recognised motif in the world.
Most of these are standard British instruments found on a wide variaty of cold war British military aircraft. It’s really hard to pinpoint an instrument to a particular aircraft. Sometimes (not often) when an instrument was taken out for servicing the aircraft serial number would be written on the rear of the instrument in either silver or white ink/paint, therefore may be worth looking at the rear of the instrument. The altimeter, airspeed indicator and G-meter all seem military jet type 50’s to 70’s.
Nice creative ideas but personally for me it has to be original. Knowing it has flown at some stage of it’s history it’s what it’s all about. However I wish the business well.
There was a Kuwati airforce C-130 at Gatwick last week, as previously stated very subtle colour scheme you wouldn’t have guessed it was military.
Messerschmitt Me-163B-1a Komet Control Column
Retro Iberia scheme is excellent! Great shots well done.
Convair 990
I intend going to Southend airport next week for the first time, are there any good areas to view the ramp activities, any coffee shops in the lounge area with views outside etc? Thanks in advance.
Nice shots, what type is the 5th Photo down, twin engined high winged aircraft? Thanks
Obviously not in the UK but Lufthansa seem a good cheerful bunch see following link:

They did indeed work with DH to utilise a slightly modified Comet nose section. Later Caravelles featured a very different flight deck glazing configuration, to greatly improve the field of vision for the crew. I believe that Sud took the opportunity to modernise the flight deck layout at the same time
Any idea which mark of Caravelle had the Comet type cockpit?
