Looks in good nick too, especially with all the plaques in tact. Nice project in the waiting…….
Look forward to it, I take it that its along the same format, big tent, early bird tickets and a tea van etc?
Interesting story, I can’t see any RAF station refusing an emergency or semi emergency flight especially laden with passengers?
Maybe the truth lies somewhere in between?
Nice to see the speedbird logo at the front
A nice tidy project for any Australian cockpiteers out there:

Lovely photos, long live the glass nosed TU-134!
They are sorely missed from EU airports~!
Quite a regular thing for shuttle flights to be operated by 767/777s, once caught a 777 back to GLA simply cos the 757 was in a service.
Remember way back in the eighties seeing the shuttle arrive at GLA in the shape of Concorde a few times… THAT would have been a pleasant surprise for the pax!!
Yes strange but true, I too remember the the Manchester – London scheduled shuttle being operated by Concorde on a few occasions.
Wow! what a site, I wonder if Manchester will charge £24 for this particular experience.
Great shots, was this all in one day or over a week or two? Any interesting Turkish stuff out there?
amazing pics, I hope he (pilot) makes a full recovery and keeps his passion to keep on flying.
Great shots, out of interest is it a good show? Was thinking of going tomorrow (Monday)
And daily does mean daily (unlike the press release MAN put out about a daily Stuttgart service that operates 6 times a week!)
Perhaps the press release man should also be put out about paying an excessive £12 for the once in a life time oppurtunity of seeing the daily A380 land!
These are their words in a press release not mine.
What is the usual normal price for car parking to watch the smaller Airbuses?
Is this a pre sheduled flight by the airline, or are Manchester airport chartering the flight hence needing the revenue from the high parking charges to help pay for the cost of the flight?
If the flight arrives at no cost to the airport (no doubt they make money from the landing and gate parking fees) then its a bit cheeky charging the loyality of the people who regularly visit the viewing park.
Andrew Cornish, Manchester Airport’s managing director, said it would be a “once in a lifetime opportunity” and likened it to Concorde’s last flight to Manchester.
“This is a really significant day for aviation here in the North West and we aim to celebrate it appropriately,” said Cornish.
Once in a life time oppurtunity? Is this the only time a A380 will visit manchester then?
Celebrate it appropriately? By charging all visiting cars £12. I think I will be celebrating too if I owned the car park !
