Good to see that there may be hope left for some of these aircraft stored in the Desert.
Just to add another (potential?) aircraft to the operational list for LCY the mighty Douglas DC-6. Didn’t one land at LCY during the airshow 1 or 2 years ago, making it the largest aircraft to have landed at LCY at the time?
I presume that this may have now been superceeded by the A318 or E190 if any of these two are bigger???
I have read some where that about 25 of this aircraft have now been converted into ABJ (Avro business jets), perhaps that’s where their future may be ?
As this event is getting nearer I thought I would give it a bump! I know it gets slated but its an AEROJUMBLE! long may they live…
I thought the BA Avro’s at LCY were in the process of being replaced by one of the Embraer types?
This is what concerned me the other day when I was at LCY, there were no British Airways 146’s to be seen, only the Embraer types were in operation. No doubt other airlines will start following suit, the beginning of the end perhaps?
This airline has expanded massively in the last decade, so never say never! Watch this space……….
Swiss Air landing at LCY London City Airport
Is there also one at Tegel? Ex-Air India IIRC. There’s also an abandoned ex-BA one in Africa, still in British Airtours colours.
Anyone got any photo’s of this BA 707 still in Africa?
Some of the best pictures I’ve seen in a long time, well done and thankyou for sharing them. Were there any old prop liners there by chance?
Wonder who won? ………
I have read somewhere before of 2 lease Caravelle’s with EI- Irish registrations…
Any updates as to what the panel came from?
Fancy putting Radium risk in the advert:rolleyes:
Well I at least he is thinking ahead, although once ebay get hold of the advert it will unfortunately be no more.
Bruce, on the sixth picture of the job lot of instruments, in the middle to the right is a large cabin internal Airspeed indicator, after seeing one of my previous postings you mentioned that you had come across one in the past and I just wondered if you are able to lay your hands on it?
Nice job lot to keep someone in the aerojumble business for a while! Good bargain to be had if you have the space to store the items.
