    Dunsfold

Unfortunately due to last minute personal circumstances I had to miss this airshow (it’s now in next years calender). Does anyone have any photo’s of the event by chance? And news on how it went?
    Thanks in advance!

I’m lookig forward to attending this airshow, my first ever visit to Dunsfold. Dissapointed that the Vulcan and Swordfish cannot make it, if this is true??

There’s a complete Jetstream cockpit overhead panel for sale on http://www.oncealoft.com if you are interested, price $300 plus shipping from the states although I have always found this sellers shipping cost more than reasonable.

I’ve just notice on the first thread that the DC-6 will actually land! All we need now is a DC-7C and we can start non stop flights from LCY to New York bypassing the need for a BA Airbus 318 which has to land en route at Shannon.

Unbelievable! It would be fantastic to see an old 4 engined piston DC-6 land at London City Airport! I take it that if she did this she would land from the east avoiding the city skyscrapers? I thought that the pilots had to be type rated for this LCY approach?

Or is she just doing a flypast without landing?

I flew to Australia and back last month with QF, must admit I was impressed with their inflight entertainment system, basically films, documentaries, TV, music, cartoons, games all on demand. The thing I was most impressed with was that there was about 4-5 hours worth of documentaries on Austrailan aviation! Okay so it’s a slow 24 hour flight, the way I rationailse it is when do you ever get a full 24 hours in this hectic life to sit down and do nothing! Fantastic to have a bit of down time to yourself, just doing sod all!

Jesus, I’ve flown a few Swissair flights into LCY as opposed to LHR purely for the fun and interesting approach into the city, would never in a million years expect anything as scary or as that exhilerating as that!. Why go to Alton towers when you can fly Swissair? In all seriousness they are a very good airline, never had any problems with them or the professionalism of their pilots. The AVRO 146, what a fantasic aircraft, long may it continue to serve.

Thankyou Air Ministry for the link, after many hours searchingthe internet I was aware of that site but it seems to be the only one that I know of.

Just a tip to those seeking reference drawings for cockpit interiors (especially ex RAF service aircarft), I always use the Research dept at RAF Hendon. You can drop your request via e-mail (see the RAF Museum web site). The reply normally comes through your front door some weeks later. Lots of photocopies of pictures/drawings or diagrams for any parts or layouts you are looking for/requested. They will normally invoice you for the photocopying but this is normally a nominal couple of pounds. Excellent service and recommended.

Any other web sites out there for control wheels?
