Mark this is an educated guess and I certainly stand to be corrected. I think I have seen one of these panels before and it may possibly have came from a Percival Pembroke or Sea Prince.
Once you have stripped out what you need if you are inetersted in selling the panel and what ever remains let me know. I have both the main instrument panels for a Pembroke and Sea Prince so it would compliment them.
Certainly a good find, well done!
I have never been to Whittick, just out of interest how did it compare to this years Shoreham? Was it better or about the same?
Interesting to see about the Hastings control column, I managed to pick one up at Brooklands aerojumble earlier this year together with a Beverley control column. Seems to be a few of them knocking around lately.
Glad to see that everyone had a good time at Whittick, long may aerojumbles continue!
Thankyou for this, I don’t know much about link trainers, would it be for an American or British Link trainer?
WEEISSO and Jamie Southend many thanks for your trouble, seems to be a museum well worth a visit next time I’m in town. The b-24 Liberator wreck seems particularly good. Thanks again!
I collect British post war cockpit instrument panels, RAF or RN.
I thought it was ok too, well just enough stores to make it worthwhile, wouldn’t like to see it get any smaller though! must have been approx 6 stalls on the outside of the large tent, never seen it so sparse before, although the inside of the tent seemed pretty full. However it was an enjoyable day out! Long may it continue in some shape or form!
Well, any views on how it went today? Any good finds out there?
For next years events why not try and get one or two cockpits to visit? I know you tried it last year and a Canberra attended, great and welcome additional attraction!
Andy,
You won’t be the first to have not heard from Brooklands, seems to be a common denominator from the people I know but let’s not digress.
Apart from the aerojumble is your site (http://www.aerocollector.com) still up and running and up to date with the latest adverts? I enjoy the magazine that is published and handed out everytime I go to Shoreham but am not to sure how up to date the web site is?
Any idea how many stalls are booked for this years event at Shoreham or is it a case of turn up and see?
In addition did you do the aerojumbles at Rochester airport a few years back or was that another organiser?
Shoreham is an institution, the envy of others around the world, sad to see it go! May be a better location such as Brooklands Museum just off the motorway network may make it more accessible to a greater audiance, especially when you factor in that there are museum aircraft to look at as well?
Fairey Dan, Many Thanks for this, would be interested to see the new shots when you manage them. Thanks again Fly.Buy
Thanks for the compliment pete, I’m looking out for a Museum who wishies to take these panels and others on a long term loan basis, I need the space in my garage!
Fairey Dan, Do you have a picture of the rear cockpit by any chance?
Thanks

I have a book called Cockpits of the Cold War written by Donald Nijboer, it illustrates a number of cockpits from cold war aircraft including American machines. Look through the illustrations it appears that this type of Mach meter was fitted to the F86 Sabre. But please bear the following in mind.
1) Most instruments were standard fitted to a variety of aircraft and I doubt if this was exclusive to the F86, its highley likely to have been fitted to other types in that particular era.
Hope this helps.
Hi, any reference numbers or mk numbers on the instrument?
