In the foreground you can see the remains of what looks like an R-73 AAM, and under the wing, the back end of an R-27 AAM possibly?
Correct. R-73s and R-27s. Images exist of Norwegian troops guarding the MiG-29 wreckage that show the R-27s. The more intact MiG-29 was given the once over by a US threat assessment team based in Germany.

Hi, I dont really post on here as I am from the commercial aviation forum, but I do go to airshows each year and I was wondering if anyone could help me find out what type of aircraft this is that I saw at Yorkshire airshow:
thanks.
T-28S FENNEC
Images of the aircraft in question can be found at:

US Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle hit by R-73E over Bosnia, 27-March-1999 shot by amateur photographer and a screenshot of Canadian CTV the same day showing a “MiG-29” wreckage. Since there are english stencils visible (ANNUAL INSP), this is no way a Yugo aircraft rather than the mentioned F-15E. USAF denies any losses except the F-117A that day but that is nothing new 🙂
Is this crap still on the web? Only in the crazy world of Venik are the two images related. The F-15 is a C model that is simply venting fuel before landing. The “ANNUAL INSP” image is the remains of the combat-jettisoned external fuel tank from the F-15s that downed the two MiG-29s on the 26th March 1999. I have a near three minute video from the film crew who came across the jettisoned fuel tanks on the evening of the 26th March 1999. The same crew filmed the remains of one of the MiG-29s the next day. The following are some stills showing the F-15 600 gallon jettisoned tank:

A militiaman loyal to Iraqi Shiite cleric Moqtada Sadr standing in front of a picture of his leader at the shrine of Imam Ali in Najaf displays 22 August 2004 a US military drone which the militia claims to have shot down the previous day. The writing on the wing of the drone reads in English and Arabic: “United States military property. If found, please return to Forward Operating Base Volunteer or the nearest Multi-National Force headquarters
The UAV is a RAVEN. This is built by AeroVironment Inc, Sim Valley, California. This is a relatively new system issued/on order for the US Army in the hundreds. It has a battery powered electric motor which drives a two-bladed pusher prop.

Interesting if not a PS.
There were postings of the PLAN looking for mass-produced radar platforms based on the Y7 and Y8.
We saw a lot of different Y8 AEW/ELINT/EW variants. The one Y7 variant I recall was the one of the MA60 with the big nose called the “Heroic Gull.”
There is a test-bed Y-8 with a rotodome. It has been intercepted a number of times by US Navy aircraft over the last couple of months.

I found this pic from a great Russian Arms site. But I need to know what the name of this sub is in Russian to confirm it’s type.
The pic is supposed to show a DELTA III, but as far as I know the R-29R (SS-N-18) missile, the typical SLBM load of the DELTA III, has been out of production for ages. The missile looks like the R-29R, so could this photo just be an old photo? Or did they actually refurb the missiles? The fact that the sub has been given a name would suggest this is not an old photo. Can anyone help?
You will find the details on the following webpage:

My Mistake. Wasn’t one of those Yugoslav sites (you know the ones, claiming hundreds of NATo planes destroyed) calling that nacelle evidence of an A-10 being completely shot down?
Correct. The media/military released the video with detailed close-ups of the nacelle. They provided nice detailed shots of the nacelle plate showing the aircraft construction number of 662. The A-10 in question 81-0967 was by the video release sitting at Petrovec awaiting a repair team to make its damage assessment.

Well I don’t think China will just take out the military airports but all teh civilian ones too.
I think Taiwan’s best bet is to establish a lot of long concrete strips, much like Sweden did, though they would need to be much longer.

Actually, those photos ARE of Cpt. Kim Campbell’s Warthog.
There are also some good photos of an A-10 that lost an entire engine over Kosovo, but managed to get flown to a base just fine. Interesting to see a grey A-10 later with a green replacement engine.
The A-10 (serial 81-067) over Kosovo didn’t lose the engine, but just the engine nacelle. The nacelle is now on display in a Yugoslav Musuem. It was repaired in Macedonia and rejoined its unit in Italy.

Andy,

Last I heard, about zero. They weren’t in the best shape anyway.
