Ah, the old project… here is the only picture I have in the office, will dig out some more of the model. The runway suggested, as seen in the picture, was in fact Llanbedr.

It will fly one of these days:)

Will J…..no reply to my Inverness request, so I assume you are all booked up for 2007 ?

..ah, sorry that nothing has come back yet, I will chase up on a reply tomorrow. We are certainly looking into a Scottish tour later in the year, though the exact details are having to fit in around other commitments. Watch this space!

Not really useful information, but there are some pictures of the Gannet in question ‘back in the day’ attached somewhere along the line here….

It is good to see that a good prospective home is eyeing up ‘831, all the best to all involved.

PS… (This is more my own curiousity more than anything else)

“I believe BAPC have approved the move, all that remains is to settle on the price and for both Flambards and NEAM to agree.”

I have to confess I have never heard of this ‘approval’ being made, or indeed sought, before. In these cases, who do you ask, and how do they help?

Southend, funny you should mention that…. we are currently looking into a late summer date around that neck of the woods, watch this space!

PS… Given the theme of the thread, it would be rude not to post…;)

Spot on, there is a Proctor well on its way to flying status, which will before too long join the pleasure flying fleet. Comments about another Dove are not that wide of the mark, we have G-ARHW in hangar seven undergoing work to bring that one on strength too. (A familiar machine to Old Warden regulars, I think it was only last year it did a flypast with the Avro XIX).

Here are a few images from the last couple of days in the Hangar. Remember that we have an open day on Saturday, £10 general admission, £55 including a pleasure flight. Call 08703 304 747 for more details or to book a place!

    Hi Gary,

sorry about that, it should have appered in my inbox but we have had a few email issues over the last week or so ( I would explain, but it would end up as a long and undoubtedly tedious rant about BT customer service 😡 )…

all is well now, but to be on the safe side copy the request into a PM over the forum, and I will see that it is seen to on Monday!

Absolutely, it is only fair that whilst you are stuck in the classroom, there should be interesting machinery grumbling past the window!

The Classic Flight Rapide fleet has indeed grown from two to three, and very nice ‘RP is too, with its big DF loop and fairing on top and colour scheme that reminds me of a 60s Lotus Grand Prix car!

The end of hangar seven that had contained the ‘secret bomber’ now looks very smart as a general classic maintenance area, the flor has been repainted, last time I looked it contained a Rapide, Heron and a Dakota. We have kept the big white plastic divider that segregated the Lancaster form the Classic Flight fleet, I reckon it will make a great screen to project films onto during open days!

    A few pictures:cool:

Just got back from a busy, and rather warm (after the mist lifted) day at Wolverhampton Halfpenny Green with Dragon Rapide ‘AGTM. Many flights were flown, and lots of trains were hotly pursued, the passengers seemed highly appreciative ….
