..bearing in mid Twin Pins like to go everywhere via the scenic route, Primrose has never been known to go anywhere ‘as the crow flies’ 😉

It’s about time ‘graphics department’ here stopped messing around with university projects and got over to Baginton and got his hands dirty too 😮

What ‘insider knowledge’ I have suggests we are seeing an upgrade to the in flight catering facillities….

Far too many I imagine 🙁 – not forgetting the risks involved in operating what was fairly basic winch equipment, such incidents obviously having the potential for, well severe unpleasantness…

Anybody doubting the relevance of target tug liveries/restorations ought to seek out a copy of ‘The Long Drag’-sorry, forgot the author, book not with me at the moment- the pilots and winch operators were true unsung heroes in terms of the preparation for war, it was a taxing and suprisingly dangerous job. OK, by no means as taxing as flying into the heart of enemy territory etc.., but interesting and worthy of representation at Duxford.

Its either a new terminal building or the Coventry Airport ‘sandwich shoppe’, where else can you enjoy a coronation chicken sandwich with a panoramic view of a Rapide 😀

617sqn Camo TSR2- funnily enough an idea I had had for a R/C model.

Damien.. was it you that had built the little 1/144th scale TSR2 in that ‘hypothetical’ scheme, or am I thinking of someone else?

Nice photos by the way, it has been an interesting and busy few days in this particular corner of the interweb 😀

The Mosquito looks absolutley fantastic, and yes, I would’nt object a bit if the TSR2 was left the way it is, it looks amazing too! Although a fresh coat of white will no doubt look rather special 🙂

Yes, driving up to the museum is a bizarre experience- you can’t help but feel envious of the students at the college/uni/whatever it is over the road, ‘in a just popping over the road during my lunchbreak’ train of thought….. 🙂

Also, quite an easy ‘guess the airfield’, if a clue is necessary, think between Duxford and Baginton…..

Here is a potted history of G-AIDL, excuse the scribbles etc…

There has been talk recently about re-instating the ‘Wanderer’ name, and maybe giving her a new paint scheme…
