Beautiful Dakota interior 😀
These are two of my latest projects…
The Mustang is a Cambrian ‘Fun Fighter’ kit, fairly comprhensively re-designed to lighten it for an electric motor replacing the I/C one. Electric models tend to need to be lighter, and as they do not suffer the same degree of vibration, the structure can be a little less substantial. Most of the heavy ply in the fuselage was replaced with a lighter balsa structure. The colour scheme seems particularly appropriate with the current Memphis Belle ‘cast’ thread! 🙂 (PS It hasn’t flown yet, it is awaiting a significant improvement in my piloting skills before I risk it  )
The ‘sort of Piper Cub thing’ has survived much of this learning to fly process. It is currenly awaiting a major rebuild after a hand launch went horribly wrong 🙁 , the resulting model will be the modelling equivalent of a ‘data plate’ restoration 😀
Does anybody know how they ended up there, were they on there way to some other destination or was Cyprus their intended new home?
As promised, some photos of the Coventry University two seater…. 🙂
Not sure of its identity, but I know it came via Everitt aero.
The Brooklands Museum has the two-seat company demonstrator G-VTOL, as well as P.1127 no.6 XP984.
Is that the one that was used to test the ‘skyhook’ crane system
I got to see the limited edition models today- very nice 🙂 , better get the AACF brochure design finished, I may even qualify for one as payment 😀
PS. Prospective new club members… VOTE PRENTICE 😉
St. Mawgan
The road in the foreground looks kind of familiar
Special thanks to the Viscount guys for the guided tour, a fantastic machine with plenty of character and original accesories 😀
Great news that it is part of the plan for Airspace 🙂
Hello Mark!
Not being a pilot myself I’m not sure how much I can help, but I can probably point you in the direction of some useful people up at Baginton. What times are you in this week, I am ‘making a case’ for my mDes project (transatlantic ekranoplan 😮 ) in a meeting all Tuesday morning until about half twelve.
Sounds like a good project- glad to help in any way I can 🙂
Will Jarman
Nice 😀
….”Top fun”…
Similarly, arriving at legends in one of the stars of the show (see avatar 😀 ) had to be my highlight! My first experience of the grass runway at Duxford!
More stuff on flying model Spits….

Daz, I’m pretty sure this is the kit that produced your ‘mystery spitfire’ thread a while back. It is really worth watching the video to see it close up. It is about the same size as the GWS spitfire (and would take the same micro r/c gear), just with better surface finish etc..
However the basic airframe will cost four times as much 😮 , as they say, you pays yer money you take yer choice….
I was wasting time ‘channel surfing’ through music video channels the other day and stumbled across the one for ‘Writing to Reach You’ by Travis. It must have been released 1998/99 ish, which make is poigniant as it features what must be one of the last flights of ‘Me109’ G-BOML. It is seen ‘strafing’ the lead singer who is running along what looks like the grass at Duxford.
Ah.. I stand corrected 🙂
I would of thought it counted as a relevant ‘fringe’ activity like flight sims, which itself merits its own space on the site (I might be wrong but Key don’t directly publish flight sim magazines  )
I would have thought it would solve the problem of posting modelling threads here that almost, but dont quite, seem to fit in.
Any comments 🙂
