I have got some, although I’m away from Coventry this week so will have to dig them out early next week.

Did anybody get any shots of the Anson?

PS. Just a brief shakedown flight, all of one circuit in the end.

    Love the pictures!

So will I be attending again- certainly! I just wish that some enterprising Air Charter company would offer something to spare us that bloody drive down the A1!

We could certainly look into it! 🙂

Dakota anyone? Any suggestions as to a good pick up point….

Not sure of its current status, but I remembered stumbling accross a seble Viscount nose at Hanningfield Metals in Essex a couple of years back. (ex Southend?)

Would make an impressive garden shed:)

    Update on the AACF pair:

Vampire T55 G-HELV is very much ready to go, its latest show was Leuchars ’06, it also showed up at the Kemble open day on the same weekend, look out for more from this machine in 2007. The Vampire also managed to reach Amman, Jordan during its longest trip out this year.

Venom G-DHVM (formerly known as G-GONE) has been quiet over the last few years, but a flurry of activity around this aircraft should see the situation change soon!

Have you got any photos of the Rapide in its new RNZAF scheme please? Is there any particular reason that scheme has been chosen, or just because it looks nice? Will it be the white/grey/blue VIP scheme as worn by ZK-AKU here in NZ? Or wartime camouflage?

Hi Dave! Progress so far has mostly involved some careful peeling, removing and degreasing of the civil registration…. or at least the mark it left behind!

The new scheme will be pretty much the same as ZK-AKU, with the current silver belly extended upwards and the blue stripe added on. By doing this, our Rapide fleet will echo our DC3s, with a civilan version and a military one… with minimal alteration to the basic finish of the aircraft!

Are there new aditions to AA’s collection?

Again I would be tarred and feathered if I let slip our plans, which are undoubtedly interesting… another tantalising watch this space I’m afraid!

Which other sites are on the “possible maybe” list for Classic Flight relocation.
Hope you aren’t going too far

Im afraid even the ‘possible maybes’ are classified information at the moment, neither myself or Tom are allowed to divulge any more!

    ~Watch this space~

Or more specifically this space: http://www.classicflight.com

PS The Convair is currently being dissasembled ready for its move, realistically, a new home in Scotland is a good move for this particular airframe, as the pressures of the airworthy fleet meant that it had little attention in recent years here.

    Funny kite to fly…?

Funny kites, well we already operate a Prentice and Twin Pin :p

All we can say at this point is that Deenethorpe is at the ‘serious feasability study stage’, should this result in further positive moves in this direction, then we will not keep it quiet. In the meantime, dont believe everything you read!

    Hi DGH,

as you have correcly guessed 🙂 ,

the reports in Pilot and Aircraft Illustrated magazine are, significantly wide of the mark. It seems that certain rather broad assumtions have been made. Whilst it is the case that the Classic Flight are still looking far and wide for a new base that would allow greater operational scope, and importantly, easier public access, nothing has been decided upon, or signed for, yet!

The next issue of the ‘Dakota Promota’ currently on my desk at work in production, will have more on the subject!

    Lovely picture!

As an aside to the poigniant image created, this kind of view also is reassuring in that you can see that my ‘K’s are stuck on fairly straight along the bottom of the wing!

G-ANAF is certainly still flying, at reasonably constant readiness for whenever Thales require her for further radar evaluation work.

There is a lot to be said for the prototype Hunter… duck egg green with big roundels, beautiful! (Probably best not to subject that last comment to deep psyco-analysis…… 😀 )
