Nice pictures, did you get any of our Vampire?
There will also be pleasure flights available on our de Havilland Devon, for just £55 per person, looks like it will be a fabulous day!
its huge ive never even seen it before its like a hercules with a rubber dingy bolted to it -imagine a land version
Yep, there was a land plane transport conversion suggested. I seem to remember the plan was to drag one ashore at Thorney Island, and carry out the work there… any ideas if I am right?
Actually, I quite like it……
….I’ll get me coat 😉
Just after midday I think.
I have put a few here 🙂
Sounds good, unfortunately I’m otherwise engaged on Saturday. I love the idea of flying over the Severn Valley in a Dragon Rapide.
Neal
No worries, we will hopefully be doing loads more of it next year!
Press Day
We donated the use of our blue Dragon Rapide for the event’s press day yesterday (Monday) so hopefully it, the Police helicopter and a rally car will make it into the local papers before the weekend, representing some of the exhibitions on offer on the day.
Look forward to seeing you all there!
I think the Spit will go straight into the display straight after its routine at the Brize Norton families day. All I know about that particular event is that it is finishing earlier than planned due to, you’ve guessed it, the football! Because of this, we are not yet entirely certain when the Spitfire will arrive at Halfpenny Green, but as soon as I know any more I will post it here! It might be a case of wait and see during the day!
Today I arrr bin mostly:
Sat in the garden watching spitfires, about 20 miles south of Cosford, which may explain….
A mark nine overhead about midday, grey with roundels underneath. (Welsh T9??).
And a blue PR19/11 ???? (Flying away from me so I could’nt make out how pointy the front end was) with invasion stripes heading south this afternoon.
PS If anybody from the office is reading this thinking that I’m just skiving off today…. the new FlyPast advert is almost finished 😀
Guilty as charged.
Now sitting to attention sir….Just think it’s a good pic of the S B
Have we had this TT Meteor or this Vampire ?
MMMMMMM, that Meteor seems kind of familiar…… note the serial 🙂
Apologies for the lack of email reply, in case it has got ‘lost in the system’ at some point, please re-send it to wjarman@airatlantique.co.uk and I will see that it is replied to immediately!
Hello!
For flights in the Devon, the main opportunities on the horizon are at Coventry this coming Saturday (Saturday 20th May), Wolverhampton Business Airport (Halfpenny Green on the 24th June) or the Goodwood Vintage Airport Fly in (29th and 30th July). The Pembroke is not available for public pleasure flights but chances might well be on offer for club members, see http://www.classicflight.com. To find out more about the pleasure flights, check out the website or give me a call on 0870 330 4747 to make a booking.
To see the Pembroke and Devon display, a visit to this year’s Biggin Hill Air Fair might well be rewarding, where we will be presenting most of the Classic Flight’s piston engined aircraft, and doing pleasure flights with the Rapides.
There should be at least one more big Classic Flight Experience Day at Coventry this this year, watch this space for dates!
I wonder if any of the Firefly engine cowlings that adorned the wall behind the Anson are for sale as well… would look nice hung up above a mantlepiece!
Possible answers:
A new streamlined bit of Rory’s car…
A spare piece of aircraft fairing, flatted and primed ready for Tom to try out his new tin of dayglo Humbrol on…
….that or it must have something to do with Baron Von Gridlock, latest recruit to the AACF team (to read more on Von Gridlock’s adventures, see the next issue of FlyPast……….. :diablo: )
….Or is the piece in question now attatched to the (censored), fully airworthy and resplendent in shiny (censored) paint.
(Censorship due to my unfair advantage 🙂 )
