I’d guess the hurricanes not joining in would be a crewing matter, seeing four of them together was fantastic, even if it was through a plastic tent window!

One of the most interesting bits was the differing ‘racing lines’ taken by the silver Spitfire XIV and the Spitfire I, in order to keep the racy newer model behind the timeless classic, facinating stuff!

‘Way too much fun’ you’re right there, the formation bit looks like hard work, the tailchase on the other hand looks like the most fun you can legally get away with in public 😀

Is that the Old Warden Spit barbecue there?

I was stood next to Tom for the Spitfire startup, we were just getting around to wondering why the Shuttleworth Spit was facing away from us, in contrast to the others, we soon found out that you got the full fire breathing Spitfire effect!

One of our pilots was last seen heading west, destination Reno, he did’nt mention the Shack though!

Still working on the colour scheme 😉

It would be odd if the Valiant was to be repainted in a green/grey scheme, as the current schmes worn by the three V-bombers to be included in the display…

    Valiant -Anti Flash White
    Vulcan- Green/grey camo
    Victor- Hemp

… nicely represent the three main phases of the ‘V-bomber story’, nuclear bomber, conventional bomber and finally tanker. My guess is that these were just models conveniently found to illustrate the shapes of the aircraft involved, unless somebody else knows better…?

Very nice, hopefully we can get some more air to airs to compete with you guys, using BBMF’s old camera ship!

Very nice, love the more ‘abstract’ close up Chipmunk ones- particularly the one with the canopies!

Looking at the Devon pictured banking away to the right, it is interesting to see how asymetric the aircraft is! You normally expect one side of an aircraft to pretty much mirror the other yet here you have several differences including one elevator severely ‘clipped’ compared to the other…

…the kind of detail that you might miss until somebody points it out and it sticks out like a sore thumb!

(and yes, it is supposed to look like that!)

Cheers for the kind comments, glad you liked the pictures 🙂

Hopefully, we might be able to see the pictures taken by this suspicious looking/elusive character as well….

…which he describes as “some nice cloudscapes that some inconsiderate pillock parked a Pembroke in the way of……..”

    Some people

UK Museum piece.. would look very nice next to Cosford’s new Jindivik.

I passed by Llanbedr yesterday, very quiet, although the fabric of the place, buildings & runways, seem to have escaped demolition, for now, it does seem that sheep have taken over as tenants!

PS. Any ideas as to the fate of the Llanbedr gate guard Jindivik?

Cheers for the advice, I will have a go on the original using your ideas. As far as stopping the effect in the fist place it really is as simple as covering over the opposite window (and closing the curtains on tose that have them- Percival Pembroke)

    Superb idea!

Hopefully I will get some better images before long, but to start off with, a rather bright Chipmunk livening up a rather dull Baginton! (Delivering John Beattie to fly AACF’s Venom) 🙂

I was going to claim I’d never flown in anything with a nosewheel, but it seemed I have blotted my copybook with a certain Pembroke! (Still ‘keeping it real’ only ever having flown in piston engined aircraft though!), similar to Blue Robin, my first was in Dakota G-AMPZ (now flying with Air Service Berlin) when I was about 10.

As an interesting aside, is it true that the IWM London Zero’s engine & cowlings is the one on display amongst the engines in Cosford’s hangar one? If true, the two sections make fascinating exhibits in their respective ‘halves’, but surely a reunion at either location would make a more representative ‘chunk’ of zero….

    discuss.. 🙂

Wow, excellent pictures, I realise it is a predictable question coming from me but… do you have any more of Twin Pins?

    Thanks for sharing 🙂
