Does anyone else remember the old Pushkin photo-feature in an early issue of World Air Power Journal?

It was Jane’s Soviet Intelligence Reviev if I remember correctly, with many B&W pictures of Leninets flying tests beds taken by some member of balloon sport team.

    It’s funny!

Previous Saturday, I visited Rostov-on-Don “Voyenved” airfield, Russia. Before, I made a check at Google Earth and got a low res picture. Today, I tried again and found Rostov picture in high res! Below are: GE picture of May, GE picture of June and my picture of 26th May.

Sura-M is for the MKM while MKI has Sura-K.

The ELT/568 SPJ has high-band build-in section and medium-band podded section. See all new aerials on the MiG-35 demonstrator here:

My guess is that MiG-35 will have the wing similar to that of the MiG-29K (9-41), that is 12 m span. Of course, it will have simpler construction with no folding and less extensive high-lift devices. No wingtip rails, as I know. Present MiG-35 ‘154’ demonstrator has ‘old’ MiG-29M’s wing.

Attached pictures show the MiG-29OVT ‘156’ with wingtip R-73s as displayed at MAKS 2001.

Here is the mock-up of one of three active aerials of the ELT/568(v)2 self-protection jammer for MiG-35.

PiBu where are you :p 😮

    On the way to Bangalore:)

Russians describe Platan as “laser-TV station”, so, no FLIR.

BTW, here is the MiG-29KUB in its second flight, 22 January

Sapsan and Platan can’t compete, because both are made by the same company, the UOMZ of Yekaterinburg. Sapsan is a pod, while the Platan is a built-in system. Next difference, Platan is simpler than Sapsan. Look at this rectangular window (retractable) just after the underbarriage bay — this is Platan.

Russian, English and German; native: Polish. Would like to learn Spanish but you will never learn a language you don’t need actually 🙁

German: das Allwetterabfangjagdflugzeug. Isn’t that lovely?

BTW, love “A Fish Called Wanda”

    I just pointed the difference.

3 stages are better if other data compared.
