hunter is not Duxford as the elevation is wrong go south from there and east!
Norwich?
The cockpit is the Hunter cockpit at Duxford, ISTR that although in F6 colours it is either ex Danish or ex Swiss.
The big old wheel looked like Grumpy the B25 to me on wet Tarmac.
Tony,
Yep thats what it is I just remember DJ said something about a post over on the Wix board about a photo of a group of OV’s stopping in Bangor Maine
Cheers Crazymainer
Well Crazymainer I am the sort of sad act that identifies aircraft by grips!!
In the UK, many of our aircraft had bespoke grips made by Dunlops. The guy whose hand they used to help size/design grips had huge hands! In the US, unfortunately the grips can be a bit samey (functional and compatible though!!).
Regards
TonyD
It certainly is a weird stick…I would have expected a B8 or similar. The grip looks like a Mohawk

Oh dear Anna! Sounds terribly like my year! My Div started last year and is still on going and things are getting to some sort of order now. This year my highlights are as always my daughters, CockpitFest and flying in an Apache. Things are looking up at last…cannot wait til next year and the warm airshow sun on my cheek!
Regards to all and hope you all have a happy (or happier) end to 2004 and fantastic 2005

The painted up Buchons were also used to supplement the small no of Hurris in the Polish Squadron scene (repeat please etc)
Well I enjoyed it…though a bit of a looksy around the cockpits of the delightful HAC Spit and Hurri would have been nicer than all that Extra stuff……I like the low level flying over the White Cliffs of Dover…..for those that dislike helicopters (you know who you are!!) that is the best way other than in a Fast Jet or a Spitfire!!
I use it!
I will be there as usual. Can’t buy much though as I am in my Smart ForTwo!!!! Doing the Smart London to Brighton Run on Sunday! If my ‘co-pilot’ was not with me I would call on Geoff and his lovely museum
I went to see the remains of Ray Holmes’ Hurribird at Lambeth a couple of weekends ago. I have never seen such a mangled Merlin. One of the largest parts is a cylinder head and the front of that is bent round at right angles. The stick top is also on show and similarly mangled. Thank god for parachutes eh?
When we meet Elliot, remind me and I will bring a pile of my Hurri phot reference library!
ditto
Indeed not a very busy day in the BoB compared to others….25 years later saw the dawn of the age of TonyD!……..poor world didn’t know what hit it!!
In the 80s my friends bought me the excellent Hurricane Fighter Plane by Alien Sex Fiend – I kid you not…high on the Indie chart it was!! Still got it somewhere…..then theres Bomber by Motorhead!!
DavidB
Yes I am sure it would be the one. It was looking very rusty by the mid 1070’s when I last saw it at Newark.

At Bruntingthorpe in the mid 90s there was a QM trailer with a yellow Harvard on the back (new owner swapped it for a car IIRC!) Sorry if someone else has mentioned it. I have a phot somewhere
Hopefully by this time next year we will be able to visit the London Battle of Britain Monument.
Geoff.
