Great shots Dean – particularly enjoyed your ones from the north east. That’s a nice view of the coast that you guys get on approach… though it’s not a scratch on the view that we GAs have from 1,000ft over the Tyne Bridges!
The Reds were in for the Sunderland Air Show which took place this weekend, at Seaburn just to the left out of shot of your Sunderland photo. Lovely weather for it yesterday, not so great today…

An interesting post with some great shots – nice work Doug.
I’ve flown into Connington a couple of times – a friendly airfield though I got my knuckles wrapped for a wide downwind leg after joining overhead. “A good job there are no longer any B-17s about” said the CFI!

A fantastic shot – as it happens, I started my PPL in G-BKTV in 2006 when she was stationed at Andrewsfield, Essex.
Great work!

Great shots James! Liking the sunsets, the TCX 767 and of course the DC-8. Hoping to get out either Tues or Weds for this – decided to give it a miss this afternoon after watching the rain! My word…
Adam
Bit off Topic but I love your website. Thanks for the link.
No problem!
Adam
Lovely shots Alex, as usual.
Are these from the car park (mid-stay?) close to the 08 end?
I remember taking some photos from there a fair while ago, almost 10 years in fact! G-EZYH, 31st July 1999
Are you still OK taking photos from there?
Adam
NCL_Chris, the MON departure photos were taken from the briddleway which runs over the top of the small ridge due west of the airport. You can get a good view down the runway as you can see. See the link below for more info…

Thanks guys.
Alex – No I wouldn’t have normally attempted it either! As it happens I had another reason to be out that morning.
No STN visits lined up at the moment I’m afraid but will keep you posted.
Adam
Nice shots Neil, despite the weather! Always enjoy your photos from the ramp.

Great shot Keith and a nice edit too. I presumed this is an ex. Air One machine in for repainting, though note it’s actually a brand new frame. I wonder why they painted it at NWI as opposed to TLS or XFW?
A few suggestions for improvement…
– Would definitley benefit from a even crop around the aircraft; try to get the horizontal stablizers in as well.
– Sharpening is maybe a little strong, though its a fine attempt.
– The backlighting causes a few problems with the balance of lighting, though in this instance it gives an nice effect on the sparkling new paint and conjours various ground reflections. Try to shoot with the sun behind you when possible, though photos like this can be improved in processing by adjusting the shadows and mid-tones and/or using the fill light function if your editor has one.
Great work!
Adam
A fantastic, refreshing set of shots – the abstracts work brilliantly. Top quality images, nicely presented too.
Adam
Thanks everyone for your kind comments. I’ve recently been trying out a new workflow so they’re particularly encouraging.
Lukeylad – thanks for the ex. FCA regs. Can vouch for G-OOBE – saw it at NCL yesterday evening.
Another photo for the football fans among us. Here is the NUFC team returning to the north east after a rather miserable trip to Aston Villa, aboard Scot Airways’ G-BYMK.

Do you recognise some familar faces?

Cheers,
Adam
Thanks guys 🙂
Lukeylad – Any ideas which are the two ex. FCA 757s now with us at NCL? G-BYAW was still around on Saturday.
Adam
Great shots – good to see them both back at NCL, though it would be nice if the Kuwaiti was in as often as the Air Transat will be!
Adam
Absolutely fantastic shots, Alex. Superb. Amazing.
You obviously have a real eye for photographing these executive machines and take a humble delight in doing so.
Keep up the great work – and do post some more!
Also – just found your PM from last month. Sorry for slow response, glad you got it sorted 🙂
