Any ideas what time its due to leave Brunty ??????
Finally I have a day off when she is planned to fly. 😮
Those lovely guys at VickersViscount.net have done an update on the project for us.
Its worth a look even just for the stunning colour picture Rob managed to find of her in Air France service. Unfortunately there was no credit for the picture so if any ones has seen it before we would be interested to know.

Brooklands did run their Vanguard a number of years ago.
Unsure if they have done in recent times though.
We also entertained some of the guys from the VickersViscount.net website on the 19th April. Giving a talk on the project and allowing them access to the aircraft. The write up and photos can be read at the below link.

Well I managed to do some work on the Viscount last week despite the best efforts of the British weather to curtail my efforts.
Ive took some pictures showing how things have progressed ready for her reassembley very very very shortly.
I did some work on the wing root areas of the mainplanes and these are now awaiting painting and final treatment.
We have also recommenced the clean down of the fuselage. This was stopped by the winter and as you can see by the pics Ive attached she really was a little dirty. We have had to stop the clean down for the minute as a gust of wind knocked our Tesco Power Washer from the platform we were working from, sadly damaging it beyond repair after only two days useage. 🙁
Have just had another look at the item and found an ID number if this helps at all

Definitly sounds like PRC. Best way to remove it is MEK, Light aero supplies sell it but it’s not cheap and you’ll need alot of it. It’ll melt PRC but you’ll need to get the excess off with a scraper before you use MEK. Been there done that, got the T-Shirt then put it all back with more PRC:D
LOL. A once only job for me hopefully. :p
Thanks for the info from everyone.
I never thought that my simple question would receive so much debate and so many diff answers. 😉
Once again many thanks chaps 🙂
Cheers Ritch. Will keep you posted.
Regards Martin
Blimey that was a quick response.
Any ideas of UK sources for these products I have heard nowt about before.
Thanks very much chaps
I would add the Vickers Viscount. But then again Im biased. 😀
BBC news had a report on the Vulcan live from Cottesmore. They say she is leaving early afternoon.
Ive never seen the Mildenhall incident although heard about it and seen a picture I think in an old Flypast.
Has anyone got footage that they can post?
I think its fair to say that many museums have aircraft in their collection which fall outside their collecting policy.
Milliom are a new museum so to make the place more interesting I can understand the desire to get aircraft into the museum even if they are a mixed bunch.
Personally I think its great that they are collecting types that no other museums seem to have preserved. I dont recall anyone else preserving a Shorts 360. Well done chaps keep up the good work.
Will have another try. Cheers for the info Dave. 😀
