Hi Binbrook74
Try these guys for all three types: http://www.spitfirerestoration.com/
Great www trouble is they dont reply to emails. Ive sent them a couple of emails asking for prices on set drawings and also asking did they want to buy some original drawings I have. No answer on either occasion 😡 .
Good luck.
Additionally Ive some spare passenger seats for sale if anyone is interested.
Any news on that prop unit you said you had for my Viscount David?
After offering a unit on the forum I have heard nothing further from you and had no reply to a further pm I sent.
Im still a complete unit missing so am interested, or if anyone else has one going, either complete or just blades or hub sep please let me know.
Ps Im after the earlier round tipped blades.
Might be worth joining this forum and asking these chaps.
This might help you decide which Hunter to go for. Or maybe Hunters :p
Which one you talking about? I was refering to the one on the farm with Sea Hawk, Vamp etc 🙂
Jon
Yep Jon is correct the one at Birlingham is def a T7. I think the last but one Wrecks and Relics has a colour pic of the aircraft in it.
Nowt Andy as of my visit last November, think its in deep storage as is the Dak
TT
Yep it was the last time I was down at Hatch.
I still find it amazing that the Dak is stored in such a small storage space along with parts of the Beau.
Love the pic of G-AMRA. My favourite Air Atlantique colour scheme.
Changing the topic of the thread slightly are there any www out there that list the participants inc serials of the Coventry Airshows of the 1980’s?
Air Atlantique Classic Flight gained a new lodger around 4.00 this afternoon. Its big, blue and has a Bristol Centuruas up front. Why not head down this weekend to our open weekend for a little look and treat yourself to a pleasure flight in the DC3 (while you can!) while your there? More details of flights at http://www.classicflight.com
Damn I was at the museum working all day until 3.00ish. 🙁
I hear that there is a similar problem with colours between diff versions of the hounds Dam Busters lancs.
Good luck with the grand opening and to the 08 season in general.
Any plans to once more show up the establishment and win any more awards? 😎
Cheers Peter,
I have some pics of some of the work completed so far, so will do a posting when time allows.
I agree with your comments Jon, my excuse been a house move, a wedding to plan and earning a living. And how could I forget also spending time with Mrs Phantom Phixer to be.
For those that maybe interested and Im sure that the Vickers Viscount net guys wont mind me telling you about this we are having a Viscount meet at the museum in April. If anyone wants further details please drop me a pm.
Your are quite correct that the www hasnt been updated for a while. One of the things that I really must get on top off.
Has work stopped on the project?
Well Im sat here freezing cold with dirty hands and cut knuckles after a days work on her so I can safely say that work has not stopped on her. 😀
The winter has been spent working on parts of the airframe that are not on public display. Various Black boxes from the cockpit section, co-pilots seat and a few other bits and bobs.
Also the winter period has found us in a great position with a number of freebies been donated, the best been that we have found a sponsor who is providing crane hire to put the old girl back together in a couple of months time.
I had to preview this before we showed it to the public when it was released at our cinema.
If I remember correctly and it was late at night, the Hurricane was finished in an early camou scheme with white and black undersurfaces. Im guessing it was this was then however I am ready to be corrected. 😀

Having taken part in the previous Vulcan to the sky discussions on this forum I elected to listen from the sidelines on this one. The way previous threads had broken down into a slanging session by the hardcore vulcan fans refusing to enter into meangingful discussion about the merits of the project dissapointed me.
Its interesting to cast your mind back to threads last year and look at the difference in the comments and points been raised. Back then if you dared speak negative comments on the project you came in for a huge amount of flack.
This thread seems somewhat different. It seems as though even the hardcore Vulcan fans have realised the project has its difficulties and maybe questions do now need to be asked about how money was spent and can this be a project that is sustainable over x period of years.
Ive always said I would love to see a Vulcan fly and Im sure IF I get to see it this year I will be excited, the wow factor will be there in buckets as will the admiration for the engineering achievement.
But……………and I hate to say this, Im Vulcaned out at the minute. Im fed up of reading the projects woes in the press and the constant shaking of buckets for what Im now been told is “the peoples Vulcan” and although this seems very disrespectful of the project and peoples feelings Im now wishing that maybe someone is brave enough to stand up and say enough is enough lets stop, we have thrown enough money at the old girl and maybe its time to be honest to sponsors and more importantly the donating public.
Maybe it’s time for a remake of another 1980s cult film. I suggest the Money Pit, you know the old Tom Hanks, Shelly Long Film.
Do a 2008 twist though and replace the house with the Vulcan :diablo:
