Such a shame their sticking wingtips on it when they’ve already got 4 with them fitted.

Cant agree enough with you on that point.

[QUOTE=Lancman;1223883]Glad the video was appreciated- I made it QUOTE]

Excellent video, by the way whats the music? watching Top Gear the other day they used it as well. Not as well used I may add. 😀

Fantastic project. Im not old enough to remember Blue Bird but I do remember hearing the story and watching the film clip on tv and it was as it still is awe inspiring even now.

I know how much the mods hate resurrecting old threads but……………..

Im in the area of the Sheppards Swift WK275 at some point over the next few weeks.

Im intrigued by the aircraft type after finishing reading Swift Justice which was a gift for chrimbo and even more so by this poor lady which surely deserves better.

Im wanting to see the aircraft and take a few pics for my own use and am wondering are passers by allowed to photograph it like Plazz did or do they need to gain access first?

I think it was still there last year.

When we kicked off our Viscount project we came across a chap who wanted to purchase the Hannington Metals cockpit section.

Im unsure of the time scales involved in the story but, they gave him a selling price but when he went back they had changed their mind as they wanted it for film work.

    So hopefully……………………………

Thanks very much all for your help.

I thought posting here may help and save me going through more “official” channels so to speak.

Much appreciated. Hopefully the next time I post will be pics of the old girl back together and standing no her legs for the first time in 10+ years 😀

Ritch I will drop you a pm shortly as we really must catch up.

    Try this www.

    http://www.hannants.co.uk/search/index.php?CATEGORY=&DIVISION=&MANUFACTURER=&CODE=&TYPE=&SCALE=&KEYWORD=polikarpov&NUMPERPAGE=25&order%5B%5D=arrived+desc&order%5B%5D=code+asc

Basic search on Polikarpov gets you a number of decal sheets for diff Polikarpovs types that maybe of use for markings and colours but also a few kits of the type your after which could be of use.

Paint wise instructions should tell you the colours you require.

I dont normally like to see aircraft hanging from the rafters but as rocketeer says this is rather surreal and an impresive setting.

Saw my first one yest in a shop. Read a magazine preview of the kit. Not without faults but impessive kit by all accounts.

Same old stuff isn’t it… I actually. I actually think hat Moggy has got it spot on this time!

What I wonder is, why cant the test flying start again now? There is fuel in the aircraft (didn’t BP fill it up for free?) and nothing broke after the first flight… STOP BLEATING FOR MONEY, FLY THE BL@@DY AIRCRAFT AND SOMEONE MIGHT COME FORWARD. It’s a disgrace really. I think that VOC are making it very difficult for a sponsor to come forward. What company is going to donate the money to a project that is always on the edge of bankruptcy and spends it’s entire life telling us how difficult it it will be to keep the aircraft flying. We know it’s not going to be easy, but you have shut up winging and show that you’re capable before someone will stick with you.

If she’s staying on the ground, maybe they’ll drain the gallons of fuel that she’s still got on board and donate it to a more worthy cause. I think there are a couple of lightnings Bruntigthorpe that are pretty thirsty!

I hope youv’e got your tin hat on and are ready for the backlash VX927 😀
