Great pictures youve taken and thank you for sharing.

    Any more of the Phantom?

The schedule is being worked out at present, the dates for the ROLE Demo have been released (8 events i believe)……There will be no single Harrier display or Tornado display this year.

I would have hoped that the Events Team would have given up on the ROLE Demo. The two occasions I saw it I felt it just didnt work. Other forumites on many diff forums seemed to agree. Bring back the Tonka and Harrier solo displays.

Look forward to seeing where the BBMF will be this year. Any new colour schemes planned this year?

No reason for the Vulcan to be there, having said that they did have a F-15 flypast!

    Phill

Why not. BBMF, CWH Lanc flying with the Vulcan.

Now that would be a show opener. 😎

Will it happen? Lets just say I’m not rushing down to the local bookies to place a bet.

Always thought the red & White Jet Prov T5’s to be a rather atractive little jet.

What are the plans for the aircraft?

    Very nice pictures Rob.

I think on picture one though your shading could have been a bit better around the…………………………………:p

I rather like the Zero. Kind of sums up the futility of war.

More solo aerobatic displays (not dangerously though) rather than formation flyby’s followed by repetitive tail chases.

Sorry I know Im going to be moaned at for this but Spitfire tail chases and mock Dog fights with a Buchon dont do owt for me.

Whilst not being a fan of modern jets I have to admit to a growing fondness for the Typhoon. I lost any real interest in jets after my favourites (Hunter, Sea Vixen, Canberra and Lightning) went out of service.

Agree whole heartedly Mike about modern jets not interesting me. Tonka mud shifters and Harriers been the only exceptions. That was till I saw my first Typhoon display at Duxford’s BBMF display followed by a full display at Kemble. Im now a convert.

I agree though hardly a milestone of flight. A clever bit of hype to get more sales?:diablo:

Hopefully I will get time to put some more info on my website http://www.dhcchipmunk.com before to long.

Cracking site DGH. I now know what happened to some of the Chipies I flew in as an ATC cadet. I knew two were at Duxford but as for the third. Didnt know that had left our shores.

To me it looks like the Howard Metcalfe Phantom.

Whats the fuselage made out of?

If its non balsa/ply ie Glass fibre or a plastic of somesort and also features foam wings I’d say thats the manufacturer.

If youve never flown R/C before I wouldnt fly this until youve a few other trainer types. The Metcalfe Phantom was rather a heavy model and flew fast.

Try Traplet Publications and look in their back issues as they did a review of the kit in the 1980’s. Sorry but I dont have a copy anymore.

Bit out with the costs there Im afraid TT.

When we moved the Viscount we found it was cheaper to use a lorry that had a crane attched to the rear of the cab. The crane basically loaded the airframe onto its trailer. Much cheaper than hiring a trailer plus a crane.

The only minus point is that the reach of the crane isnt as long and not as flexible……but saying that we used it to get a Viscount out of a less than ideal site.

Give these guys a call and ask for Jane or John, absolute stars. Allum Plant Hire 01480 472580

You could also ask Ritch Blood. Belive he has had experience of moving Hunters from Exeter. Not sure how involved with the dismantling etc he was though.
