Any manufacturing stamps on it?
I found one recently at Speke (in a bush on the old perimeter track) and the stamps on the back of it eventually helped me pin down the a/c it came from.
Jon
Nothing at all on it other than the mentioned white letters im afraid.
Maybe that means she will end up stateside.
Out of interest (and no Im not planning on buying one) what does a flying Dak cost to purchase?
I dont ever recall seeing one up for offer. Although saying that Ive never gone looking for one.
All you have to do is buy her and bring her back!:)
Well if its that easy lol
Certainly has to be in contention for winner of the most atractive looking Dak award.
Always thought she looked lovely. Be nice to see her back flying in the UK.

It was US in the first place 🙂
The colours are correct. Besides there is the other Phantom at Duxford, in 56 squadron colours.
And it is only a lick of paint which could at somepoint be removed. :p
How big is the pilots cockpit for the aircraft?
When you think how small British aircraft cockpits normally are the Battle cockpit looks like something designed by………………well the Yanks if im honest.
The workmanship on the Battle looks stunning. Wonder what they will be sprinkling their magic dust over next.
Proof that Midland Air Museums Vulcan XL360 was capable of carrying Blue Steel

Immediately behind the bomb bay doors there is a panel, approx 18″ x 8″ which was part of the BS mod… apparently.
Correct, although saying that Ive never mentioned the afore mentioned panel :p
Just remembered that I had some pictures of the afore mentioned section at MAM. Taken approx 18 months ago
Merkle with all due respect I wouldnt bother wasting your time re the Whirlwind at Midland Air Museum.
It was discussed at board level recently as to the various options open and what course of action to take.
As it has a local connection (it was used by Alvis at Coventry Airport as a test bed) the decision was made not to dispose of it and that it should remain in store (albeit outside) for future restoration.
Wonder how many flies landed on the wet paint whilst it was been painted and drying :diablo:
Another Auster project anyone ?

Didnt stay on ebay long. Im guessing someone took up the buy now option.
