Would one of the Bulldogs be the one that left Wellesbourne for Newark museum?
There was the remains of the rear fuselage of a Bulldog next to the Spit replica. Id guess from the rear of the cocpkit to the hinge point of the rudder. No fin though. Cant rem the reg.
Be good to see the Spit restored even though its not a real plane.
Nice hubcaps Ben,
You sure you guys havn’t taken part in the TV programme Pimp My Ride with Westwood? 😀
When will see a spitfire with an ejection seat at Flying Legends?
Oh come on you knew some one was going to say it sooner or later. 😉
Can some one explain to me who the “Stanford Tucks” are please?
An elite group of spitfire pilots maybe?:diablo:
Watching Antiques Road show Roger?
Tut tut tut. I wouldnt be admitting that.
Saying that I was in the room when it was on round my parents and I also caught the bit your mentioning.
They did appear to be DH.60 drawings. Someone walked across the screen so I only got a quick look at the drawings in question so I cant tell you anymore Im afraid.
Also a rather nice video of the P40 displaying at Old Warden.
Including a nice soundtrack. Yup youv’e guessed it the engine. Music to the ears.
Been as you asked so nicely Alan I could hardly say no to reading your work.
Nice peice and interesting to see what you guys do to a very fine Lady.
Very much appreciate seein her (and the other Classic Flight aircraft) depart to airshows on weekends whilst working on Midland Air Museum aircraft. Certainly moves for her age doesn’t she.
Regards Martin
Ps Hows the tractor getting on?
Air Atlantique held a press day at Coventry a few weeks ago and announced that the AEW2 will be coming back to the UK next year. They have granted it permission for a one of ferry flight.
And a gold star as well. Top of the class young man.
Maybe we should have a race EN830. See whose pictures gets on line first?
Surely with two camera’s in circulation we can expect one to get to the finish without going astray?
Putting the thread back on track is that why the original Rolls Royce Spitfire RM689 had a fixed tail wheel?
Had always baffled me.
Kev Ive sent you a PM regrading your suggestion of coming upto MAM on sunday and getting this idea of the ground again.
The camera is already with my stuff to take up to the museum with me on Sunday so I dont forget it.
Like somebody suggests maybe an idea if a note is made of its progress.
Hope to see you then 😀
Add me to the list please gents.
It obviously isnt going to solve the problem of did Ollie have it or not but I recieved a disposable camera a couple of weeks ago that I will never use. use.
I can start the ball rolling again if we all so desire.
I cud take a few snaps at the Midland Air Museum which Im a volunteer at (Bet you cant guess which aircraft Id snap first :D) and then pass it on?
Maybe we keep a record of where it goes this time so there is no excuse for it to be lost?
Cheers Neil.
Its Very much the colour ones that interest me. The style of the paintings is cracking. They seem to have so much more character than the slickly produced advertising we have today.
