Not often that I see a picture that I sit looking at for ages. But ths is one of them. Amazing stuff.
Cees,
You mention a Whitley. I know we havnt got a Whitley bomber at the minute. But does anybody know of any substantial remains of the type. I know we have biggish sections here and there around the UK but I mean a pretty complete aircraft possibly lying under water. Could you imagine that.
We could let the RAF museum raise it and then put it on display next to the Halifax in an equally unrestored state:diablo:
Im impressed thats in pretty good nick.
Airfield architecture seems to be something that is vanishing rapidly before our very eyes.
Maybe its about time a group was set up to campaign against such vandalisism. Trouble is who would do it and I guess there is the issue. Without as all being vocal these things will continue to happen.
I remember being at Uni in the late 1990’s and spending many hpurs walking around the former RAF Tangmere. wasnt much left but there was still the concrete jet pens and also underneath a load of overgrown hedges and brambles the old U shaped fighter pens.
Does anyone know if they are all still there? Been years sice I was down there.
is it possible to get that close to the airframe or did you get special permission.
Being a Bond fan I would love to have a walk around the aircraft.
What chanel is it on Jon?
I was probably corrected my error while you were……………..having a cuppa. LOL
Yes yes everyone I’d already noticed and put my hand up. I hard a hard day working at the museum. Unlike some serial Tea Drinkers. Hey ROB!!!!!!!
Anybody else want to have a pop at me please feel free or forever hold their silence.
2 mins to get your micky taking in and then its silence in the ranks
Never quite mastered left or right honest. And before any one takes the mickey (Rob) I do manage to find my way to the correct aircraft. I can recognise her.
