Loose-head, thats one of the funniest comments Ive read on the forum for a long long time. Well done chap.
Hi Kev,
Sounds like that would have been Malc and Gordon. The wilderness as you call it isnt as big as you would think Kev and to be honest with you it would be a struggle to find something to do for a few hours down there.
Myself and RobMac are actually planning to tame the wilderness next week. Ive taken a week of from work to help Rob in this. Athough it will take longer than a week to do at least its a start.
But like you said health and safety is of prime consideration.
Ive sent you a PM.
Blimey that looks good.
When I saw it on the weekend just gone it was still been painted white.
I was one of about 6 that helped to lift and role the missile so Gord & Malc could sand down the portions of the missile hidden by the trolly. I was wearing a black jacket at the time. Once we had done I had yellow dust all over me and ended up lookin like a bloomin Bumble Bee.
Anyway thats all the involvement I can claim. Its gotta be said the boys (And I say boys very tongue in cheek Les) have done good once again.
Didnt No1 Squadron also have a Harrier GR1kept in stunning condition. Going away from Gate Guardians a lil but wasnt it a squadron mascot/owned aircraft in a similar way to their late mark Spitfire?
Well I could turn a blind eye to the cannons being left on. If that helps in their decision.
I personally think what ever colours 434 was wears she would always been seen as Ray’s Spitfire. Wouldnt want to see her the BoB film colours permanently but maybe just a couple of seasons.
I hope its is restored in to Battle of Britain film colours. That would be something worth seeing.
I know the OFMC did have plans to eventually put the Buchon back into its film colours.
Imagine if they had managed that and also do the same with MH434.
Ive got an original Battle of Britain film poster stashed away. Picked it up for a tenner mint condition.
What happened to the one that the OFMC bought into Duxford under a heli. Blowing some of the aircraft parked on the flightline away while they were at it
Brilliant cause. Ive signed it and really is as easy as 1,2,3.
Cheers North Eagle. Love the fact its a Phantom. The UK ones are pretty rare birds these days. Always nice to see examples that managed to escape the scrap mans torch.
Is that the one tha the guys from Sunderland NEAM look after?
Looks very very nice.
I qoute Albert
Here are some of my Airfix Jet Provost models.
How many have you got? I cant say much though. I have a rather large Spitfire collection.
As a kid I probably had more plastic models hangning from my ceiling than the RAF has in its inventory today. Sad days not just for the RAF but also our other services,
I think it would make a brilliant website Roger. PAst and present as well. IMabine some of the pictures that could be put on that?
Spitfire’s galore. Mmmmmmmmmmm
Very true. Give it another twelve months will be able to count them all on one hand as well Scotavia
Rob as you well know my job as a researcher is to research who maintains what in the world of airlines. Not research who looks after the rather nice looking Helen Tempest and the Utt Butt girls. Saying that if ever my company does wish to allocate a researcher to that role I will be the first in line with my application form
Cheers fellas. Still looking like an evening looking through W&R for a definative list though. Best get me slippers and cup of coffee on the ready.
