    What exactly? IN IAf-RSAf excercise the Mig-21 bison and F-16 were seeing each other at the same time. So can bison tackle a F-16 ? yes. Is it superior? heck no. It can’t carry any AShM or carry the load of a F-16.

    Compared to brahmos, moskit they are useless junk.
    What exactly is stoppy Su-30 , Mig-29, Mig-21 bison etc from using R-77, R27 etc?

    All the countries you qouted were on the side of US in the cold war. Which of these would ever have been approved for IL-38 or Tu-142?? By same logic I guess the obsolete harpoons and exocet must be superior to granit, brahmos, moskit, yakhont and klub. 😀

    the F-16’s and F-15’s were also easilt tackled by Mig-21 bison. Yes the singapore F-16’s are not neutered.

    They already operate this kind. It does not add to a new one. I would think M2k-5 or Mig-35 would get selected for MMRCA. So it would not affect logistics much.

    I am assuming you have no idea about the ASW variant of dhruv with Sv-2000 radar and mihir dunking sonar. It is a very capable system and the final configuration for the Dhruv ASW variant.

    Hmmm woder why RN prefered nimrod? French go with atlantique.?

    Against PN, hell yeah even the KH-35 is unstoppable.

    The su-30 MKI , mirage 2k5 and mig 29k are more than capable of taking out any silly f-16. The singapore F-16 were more advanced that the crap being dished out to PAF and IAF had absolutely no problem with them.

    Its nice to know that you can all write off the premier CWIS system in use with the USN. I believe Phalanax is capable against all “known” threats. I would place a much greater amount of faith in US tech then I would over Russian/Indian tech ANY day of the week.

    Really? It didn’t even stand up to the hezbollah fired C-701/802 missile 😀 . Sure sure you can place your faith wherever you want, Just make sure its not in way of any indo-russian missile. :diablo:

    Phalanx is not capable of stopping a brahmos. Chinese SAM’s , the lesser said the better.It is a piece of joke. The LY-60 has a range of 18 km and is hardly a threat to anyone. The israelis did not have the sam system switched on. Barak has cleared all test with IN and its big brother barak-2 is on the way.

    PN has what 6 seakings and another 6 aloutte’s? The Z-9c is a light basic helo and completely outclassed by HAL Dhruv.

    My point is technologically PN is still in middle ages. The surface fleet as you agreed is a joke. It has 3 goos subs and second hand hand me down fleet of P-3’s with no protection.

    Why would IAF su-30 not be able to blow out the P-3’s is beyone me. The exocet carrying Mirage is a sitting duck even to a mig-21 bison forget a Mig-29k. The F-16 and Jf-17 etc will be trying to save themselves from with Mig-29k, Su-30 MKI , Mirage 2k-5 and LCA.

    Exactly, When IN comes to PN’s back yard it will be with enough KA-31’s and Mig 29K to knock out all P-3’s. The KA-28 and seakings take care of the subs. The IL-38 and Tu-142 chip in to take out subs and ships.

    Sea eagle is on the way out in IN. Will be replaced by KH-35 and brahmos-A, both of which outclass Harpoons and exocet. What is P-3’s pathetic range?? 3800 Km, damn a dornier has a range of 2400 km. IL-38 7200 KM and Tu-142 12550 Km. How many air launched harppon does PN have? 20? Its far outclassed numerically and technologically by the urans.

    I guess it would take 4-5 years before the first ship joins the fleet, right? That would be 2011-12. The HMAS Adelaide would be 31-32 years old by then. Are there replacement ships planned for these frigates?

    I am still waiting for a reply on why each refurbished P-3c costs $ 120 million. Did they make the engines out of gold??
