Navy has already made up its mind on brahmos, Klub and Kh-35 to replace sea eagle. I also don’t see India buying P-3c’s anytime unless it could carry brahmos-A and Kh-35.

On a serious note their surface fleet is never going to match up to IN. Subs are probably the most economical deterent for PN.

All this only works in theory kids. 50 Su-30 Mk’s will not stand up to the first raid by 100 F-15 + 100 F-18 with E-3 and E-2? How can someone even consider that US won’t just take out the important assets using long range tomahawk missiles? US can have 24 hour satellite surveillance, what would iran have? What SSGN? US would be the one using SSN and SSGN to take out important assets. Unless you guys are mistaking iran for russia, I don’t see any USN carrier going down.

Iran does want a plane thats home made but i don’t think they are stupid enough to want to make a plane of su-30Mk’s calibre right now. The F-5e knock offs can easily replace the older f-5 and maybe even mig-29?

Yes but there is only so much that iran can buy. They will buy 50-100 Su-30 MKP’s irrespective of wether US has 300 or 800 F-22’s. It does seem ideal to replace the aging F-14a’s. Does iran have air to air refuellers? That would give the Sukhoi’s the long range required. I would also assume a few air launched yakhont or kh-35 would be procured?
