If they go for any rubbish like J-10 over F-16 blk 52 they certainly are morons. CAT I have given you a link which explicitly says that sweden has refused to even consider selling gripen to pakistan. Personally I like the gripen more than F-16 and doubt J-10’s ability to match it in any manner except perhaps range.

What ever you say the americans are not stupid either. The F-16 will be degraded only to ensure that it cannot be used to carry nukes or anything of value to china. In defence role I am sure it will have absolutely no problem.

I doubt US is counting on any influence in pakistan over china. People here seem to assume that the F-16’s are being down graded to help India. That is just rubbish. US will down grade anything that they sell to pakistan so that china cannot get its hand on quality stuff. If china was out of the picture, US would have no qualms over selling 36 lil F-16’s to pakistan.

I seriously doubt PAF is in any state to refuse the F-16 offer. They already know what they can get from china. It makes no sense to refuse the F-16’s being offered as there is no other alternative. Not to mention Russia/sweden or france will not offer any good deal and it will have to be paid in hard cash not services.
