I know someone who has the Mk1 Spitfire AP 1565A Vol 1 1939, AP1565E Vol 2 of the MkV/IX repairs manuals & Mk 1/11 Vol 3 spares listing manual all on CD, also has all the Mk1 to MkV modification leaflets as well digitised onto CD.
Is not the Mk1/II the same fuselage as the MkV/IX?

Ollie1,
Thank you for solving the mystery, your right, I was only concentrating on the Original Southampton works and forgot about the Eastleigh works at the airport, your explanation about the T9 airframe conversions etc certainly makes sense as the large”R” could stand for repair on the tail unit.
More reading of the Spitfire the history and spitfire survivors may shed more light.
Again thank you.

Hoping Mark12 or Edgar Brookes can help :eagerness:
Thank Duxman for sharing these with us, I try and visit the museum at least once a year, think its the only national museum where you can actually touch the exhibits without fear of jobs worths shouting at you.
Its as if the staff trust you that your not going to try and nick one of the aircraft :highly_amused:

Thanks Amorak – it’s now also available on YouTube: http://youtu.be/i7Zebpu2nS4?list=PLVm_XQgQPi7vUar7hT7xvrX7g14jCqfNY
Hello,
Sadly the video is not available in the UK 🙁
Thought it was a fantastic programme, would have loved to have seen more of the actual restoration, I am wondering if there will be a DVD issued including all those footage not in the shown programme.

JD1976,

Hi Great project. Have come across this photo of a Mk9 firewall but cannot see the oil pot fitted or where it could have been fitted, hope the photo is of some help though.
IMAGE POSTED NO LONGER EXISTS

Thank you Ian, from what I can see is that the spade grip in the illustration does not seem to be fitted with a brake lever, the one I hopefully have has all the holes etc for one, has anybody got any photos of the actual grip to give me some more clearer information.
I am trying to find someone who could shot blast the handle up help me find a AH number, however I still have no idea what to offer for it as I don’t want to insult the seller and lose the chance.

Hello,
Can anybody tell me what this control column is from please, I believe the spade grip is the one which goes on the top of the column but not too sure, as yet have not found any AH number.
I wish to purchase this as it would be my very first column at last but have no idea of value, the seller states any reasonable offer accepted.

Jason
T6Harvard,
You already private messaged me on 28th August and I replied to you straight away on same date with all the relevant information you asked for, so cannot see the point of your post on this thread.

The TFC Mk 22 PK624 looks to be dormant.
The Kennet Mk 22 PK664 however, together with its naval sister Mk 46 LA564 are just starting to ‘tremor’.
Some years away yet but very exciting for the future.
Mark
Thank you Mark12 for sharing with us.
The middle panel which was identified as a Mustang one has now been sold, the others are still available

Magneto,
Any ideas what these were used for ? I have seen a few around over the years and thought they were for testing plugs etc
Anybody know where there is another one of these?

Book ordered too, what is the chance of seeing a Mk22 spitfire in UK skies?
