I seem to recall an article many years ago in After the Battle regarding Sgt Squires last flight, and he meeting up with the german pilot who shot him down 40 years later, also do believe that this gentleman lived in the Castle Bromwich area of Birmingham where I grew up.
Collecting log books is something I have always wanted to get into but can never find the starting point of buying them.

Just though I would share these photo’s of a spitfire spade grip, sadly I do not own it as it belongs to a friend of mine but its something I certainly would like too. I understand that a member of this forum advised privately as to the possible value of the grip as its still in ex stores condition complete with label, is this grip rare?

Here is a potted history of it,
