Elliott,
When are you putting out the tender for the spitfire rebuild then?:diablo:
haha – then I don’t know!
No, seriously – I don’t have anything with me here at work, but I can probably do 3 blade DH bracket and Hydromatic variants as I should have the hub assembly dimensions at home – the trick then being to know where the blade ‘ends’ in the assembly, if you see what I mean.
Unless anyone else has those dimensions in the meantime.
In your problem, though, the whole assembly is rotating so the length in question is just half the diameter. 10ft 9in DH prop, your dimension (radius) is 5ft 4 1/2in. Or am I missing something?
Same here I am at work until 10 pm,,am very sure I have a rotal book some where giving dims 🙂
Rotal or de-haviland? and 3 blade/4 blade or contra rotating blades?
sorry but its all the sfq’s in one go you will be asked 🙂
Did I miss some fun…..?! 🙂
Welcome home old chap, now for tea and medals 😀
Jay
Okay, am confused now.

Welcome home 😀
I’d far rather Elliott put his Whitley together first – there are (soon to be) hundreds of Spitfire’s being put together but very few Whitleys 😀
Jeepman,
Quite right old chap.

Are’nt Supermarine Aero a supplier of parts ?
Supposed to be however still waiting for a quote for parts for my own project since May of this year!
Believe they have been putting together the fuselage of Mk17 Seafire SX300 for the same owner who owns SX336.

Jay
Thank you Richard
Hi Bruce

Are you ready to put together your spitfire then?
Jay
Hi Bruce,
Sorry but ref Hull aero I was lead to believe he rebuilt Peter Monks Mk1 fuselage, if that was the case surely he would require CAA approval’s?

[QUOTE
I’ve had various notification letters and the ‘mag’ – in fact the latest is sat next to me now. I have supported Sally B for about 3 years now and I think they are very aware of how they spend supporters money. QUOTE]
Many have supported Sally B for over 20 yrs and all they seem to recieve is begging letters over the past 5 yrs or so for more money (please see my earlier post #28).I have heard that many of the suggestions on this thread has already been put forward privately and ignored.
I Know of at least 7 long standing supporters of the Sally B who will be cancelling their subs in 2013 due to hearing and reading the same old story over and over again from Duxford.
I do hope that someone from the Sally B organistion reads this thread and takes on board all the positive comments made solely to assist them keep the aircraft in the air.

Moggy
I think you have totally mis read my post which reads fully.
“I do not envy the job the webmaster now faces, having enjoyed himself on holiday and returns home to face this C**p.”
It meant until he returned home he was enjoying himself on a no doubt well earned holiday then gets home to be faced with this unfortunate episode.
Your cutting down of the sentance gives entirely the wrong impression to others.
My post I felt finished off with my support and understanding, certainly not the oppostite which you have implied.

Jay
