    Yes.

I can’t see what point would be served by flinging a bird out in flight at all. What possible message would you want to send?

Saw this on the BBC this morning and according to the report the message is already at Bletchley Park museum being deciphored as it was in the red tube used only by the secret services during the war.
Cannot wait to see what the message reads.

What was the date of this MOD which stopped the fueslage skins being painted?
MJ730 was produced in late 1943 and its fuselage skins were painted green.

One of the things I am certain of – and Edgar may be surprised at this – is that the inside faces of the fuselage skins were never painted but the frames QUOTE]

A friend of mine has the rear fuselage skins from MJ730 and all are painted grey/ green internaly.

    Hi Ross,

Will dig out some pics of the light bracket for you when I am home ok mate, ref the framework as it is attached to the curve of the top fuselage plating so maybe a combination of radius on top of the frame work and the angle of the slot cut outs on the top of the frames.

This is so wierd, it was only last week I was holding a piece of datumn longeron with the 371 number stamped into it and at one end it looked like it had been cut up by a oxy torch.
The material was far thicker than the standard swg used on the spitfire.
Must get a pic of it sent over so I can post it

    Regards

Don’t believe that… It would take ages to get the Planning Permission, enviornmental impact report, structural report etc

    Hello Steve,

From what I have been told they was made up for 2 x static short cockpit sections some years ago hence every section is only 35.75″ long each, after they was made both projects fell by the way side and all 8 sections have just been held by the maker until I offered to try and find a home for them.
