Here is a photo of a restored panel from a Mk XVI spitfire, the majority of the instruments came from the actual aircraft.
Hope this helps.

Where exactly are you based ReAiPa
I only ask as on your contact details section you only have an email address and a mobile phone number, most people prefer to know where their money is going too if they decide to order from anywhere or anyone.

Hello Everybody,
First I would like to thank all who have been involved in trying to help out with this, and a very special thanks to skeeler who has finally found the article in the March 1990 flypast, so my friend was only one year out in the end.
Dhfan it was indeed the article you spoke of yourself.
Again thank you for all of your efforts.
Regards
Jason
Hello Steve,
Thank you and have replied, I would like to publicly thank Skeeler for taking the time to scan an article on the BBMF which sadly was not the one my friend is seeking.
Bit more information, he recalls that one photo showed a member of the ground crew working on a spitfire instrument panel which was out of the aircraft.
Again thank you all
Regards
Jason
Good Morning gentlemen,
First of all thank you so much for your kind efforts, and secondly my apologies for not replying sooner but I have been away on a course.
Have been in touch with my friend who also thanks you for all of your help, he can remember that the WO’s name was indeed Barry Sears and that the article showed members of the ground crew working on bits of the aircraft or replacement of parts of the aircraft.
Skeeeler that article could indeed be the one he is talking about, is there anyway you can scan and upload onto this thread for all to see and my friend to confirm?
Again thank you to all
Regards
Jason

First of all thank your good lady for her assistance on this, I have put it too him just now on the phone is he sure that it was 1991 and to be honest he himself is not that sure now- it could be 1989/1990/1992?
I know its over 24 years ago so could be looking for a needle in a haystack, all he can recall was an article on the ground crews of the BBMF, showing them working on the aircraft during the winter checks etc and an interview with the then Warrant officer in charge of engineering.
Even thses days I have trouble recalling what I did last year let alone what I read back in the 90’s lol
Thank you so very much for helping
Regards
Jason
Flyer,
Thank you for your reply, he is adamant that its in 1991 and it showed all the maintenance of the aircraft nothing about air to air article.
Hoping someone on here will have it.
Jason
Hello
As a budding amateur photographer I look at the photographs on this thread with a look of envy, and hope that in time I will be able take my own to the same standard.
Not so long ago I asked mark12 on what settings/lenses he used on one of his photographs and he very kindly told me and also gave me a few hints which have helped me immensely.
Just wondering if others could do the same, there are some superb flying shots which I would love to replicate if I knew the settings and type of lenses used and I am sure there are others who read this thread would enjoy the same information.
Thank you
Regards
Jason
I am wondering with all these 2 seater spitfires to choose from, will it bring the price down for flights?
Jason
The 400 mph ASI on E bay is only a replica and a overpriced one at that.
I have seen them a lot cheaper at a few aero jumbles last year and suggest you contact the owner of this website http://www.raf-surplus.co.uk/
If you don’t see what your after on the website email him.

These photos of N3297 I downloaded a long while back, they are credited to Mr Peter Arnold, hope they are of some assistance
Not sure on the toggle switch, bomber maybe. I don’t have a link for Downland aviation, it has been ages since I was in touch with them, don’t think they have a website. But the chaps son took over and is still producing replica parts including a MPH gauge. If you follow this link and then get in contact with him that way maybe ? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/replica-ww2-raf-spitfire-hurricane-400mph-airspeed-verry-nice-export-/272568948202?hash=item3f766015ea:g:NnQAAOSwdGFYsa5p
The link on ebay is to the son of Corke Areo of lincolshire.
Downland aviation used to be based down in Sussex and used tio be a pleasure to deal with and well recommened. Sadly I believe the gentleman who ran it has now retired.
I think this lady is part of a reanactment group which attends Duxford as I saw a photo of her with a group of pilots/aircrew dressed in WWII attire on the flight line last year – so might be good idea to contact the appropiate organisors with our enquiry
regards
Jason
Blackdanter,
Would suggest you contact the Fleet Air Arm museum as they may hold records/drawings on the Sea Fury, also the RN Historical flight which has 2 Sea Fury’s to my knowledge.

Jason
To me its a bit like buying a new car, you can afford to buy it in the first place however can you afford to run it and insure it?
You could start off with just building a instrument panel of a particular aircraft then expanding it when you can afford it to a full blown cockpit, this is how quite a few people have started out who I have had the pleasure to speak to at cockpit fest.
Might be a good idea to visit cockpit fest and ask around the exhibitors, I am sure they will put you on the right track
