Being one who watched the BAE mossie go in at Barton I would love to see another airbourne as a tribute.
Hi Dom,
I once visited a spitfire under restoration and the engineers used the cockpit green supplied from Light Aero supplies but unfortunatly you will need to mix it up with thinners and spray it on using s spray gun and compressor.
I then found a local company who supplies local garages with paint who could also put the same cellulose paint into spray cans,I only purchased one can but it worked a treat when I experimented spraying both onto wood and metal, using halfords red primer on the metal first.I used BS381C/283 paint code in satin and it was a very good match.
Hope the above helps
I used both cheesehead and countersunk 6ba brass on my panel
Hi Aviation artist,
Congrats on the panel, its looking realy good, you mentioned a U/c indicator kit, very interested to find out more about this kit.
Well because of your own project I have organised to have a new roof on the old shed so I can revive my own project, still cannot make my own mind up about which mark to build but I know it will only be from frame 5 to frame 14.
I purchased at a aero jumble at whitwick some yrs ago some of the 2ba bolts that you use to bolt the panel into the cockpit framework, I purchased too many so have enough spare to pass them onto your project, from another person who used to work on aircraft I have the fixed nuts you use for the cockpit frame which the panel is bolted too, again have enough spare to donate these to the project if you want them.Just drop me a private message with address details.
Keep up the good work and keep the photo’s of progress coming.
It seems that put anything on ebay and call it spitfire it will sell..no where is the mother in law? 🙂

Hi everyone,
first of all thank you Tony T for the links and updates, last time I had seen this project the fuselage had only been cpmpleted so it was good to see the final assembly and engines runs.
whether it be a replica or atribute no one can argue the fact its still a incredible acheivement.
