Hello John
PM sent
Wondering if the Jet age museum could resurrect the Aero jumbles at Staverton?, also there used to be a very good one held at Whitwick in Liecester but just disappeared of the scene.
What would be the possibilty of the museum getting the merlins to ground running condition on W4050?
Jason
Thank so much gentlemen for these superb photographs of AB910 over the years, just noticed that when delivered to Duxford for its overhaul it was fitted with the 3 fishtail exhaust ejectors as per fitted with the MkVb’s and now fitted with the earlier kidney shaped exhausts normally seen on the Mk1’s.
Can anybody explain why?
Jason
Hello
May sound daft but have you approached the original manufacturer?
Jason
Hello,
Does anybody know where one of these can be obtained from?

Hello,
You could use the old tried methods of emailing them or phoning them direct on 01983408661.
Also one of the skilled employees posts on this forum under the name of “mackerel” but if your planning to visit in person or asking for information then best to contact the company direct.

Hello,
After the battle magazine did a fantastic article on the making of this film, you can still get a copy direct from them.
https://www.afterthebattle.com/store/index.php
Contact them and they will be able to advise you which edition it was in.

Having built this tempest V cockpit frame, i don’t see a lot of specific tempest parts
Tiffyman,
Would love to read more about your project please,
Jason
Wishing you all the very best of the season and a very happy new year

Hello,
May be wrong here and hoping that Mark12 will be able to assist on this one, would not the merlin 45 have a smaller engine bearer and cowlings more suited to the MkV than the merlin 66 which was originally fitted to the MkVIIII which I believe had a slightly longer bearer and cowlings.
Jason
Hello TomW,
Thank you for helping out with this, any information you can share will be very much appreciated, you mention a Bob Doe, was he a pilot on 234 sqdn during the BoB?
Regards
Jason
The London Gazette has a series of promotions for Thomas John Thomas, but no further indications of postings in General Duties Branch.
Zidante,
Thank you so much for your help, never knew about the London Gazette so I am saving the link for the future, so glad that Thomas John Thomas survived the war staying in the RAF well into the 1950’s, you are correct with H.D.Y Primrose, had another look at the rear of the photo and what I took as “A” it is a “H”..must go to specsavers :highly_amused:

Hello Archieraf
Thank you so much for this information, I did not expect so much detail, it is very sad that he was one of many who gave so much and did not make it through.
Do you have any advice on where I can start the research on the others?
Regards
Jason
