These must have been taken on the practice Friday and the extra had gone tech on the show day.I attended most of the practice fridays but only went to the actual shows 2 or 3 times in the 90s.Maybe it was more shows as its quite a time ago and I keep remembering snippets of when I was there:rolleyes::eek::)Nigel Lamb,Lee proudfoot and Steve Johnson were the pilots in this trio with N.L in the extra.
Just 1 from Luton
Couple from the show at barton mentioned on the other page..

Head on 757 and chippy both caught well. The hornet moth looks good as well Keith and I’ll have to have a run out to Felthorpe it seems a fair site to visit.Cheers..JB:)
last three from Vultee35,crizz and anna Nice shots .:)
Thanks for a bit more of a clue on the JP Mk4, XF 382 and Beefyboy, its good to hear from you again….Cheers..JB:)
Thanks dogman,….Spits taken at Duxford as you can guess and I just cant wait for the nice weather to come around to see more from the people there that operate the things. Yeah J.P is sweet and for some reason it doesn’t look at all bad side on with that livery.Cheers….JB:)
Hi JP Vieira….Nice to get your vote of confidence about those planes as I think we probably like the post war jets at heart but when you catch the old prop fighters doing these formations and flybys you cant but get to help in liking them in sound and sight.Good luck in 2011.Cheers….JohnB.:)
Hi to JPVieira,Tornado64 and Dogman….Thanks for looking in and adding to the thread and thanks dogman for the J.P.photo,it looks like a Mk4 but could be wrong. Thanks for 1990 photos tornado man and do you remember the vulcan setting all the car alarms off going nearly vertical that day!!!?it was a laugh seeing everybody running off to sort them out.:)As Aretha said “Oh happy days”.:) Doesn’t that mustang just about say it all as to how the shows went.
Hi Pee Dee,….as I only started going to the shows at the start of the 90s I cant help you with your original questioning. How ever the ones that I did see were good and hope one day you are able to find those missing pictures.
I did go to an Auster meet in Norfolk a couple of years ago and if your interested I’ll put some up in this thread..Cheers….JB
And the same to you sir and I hope Anna reads this aswell as it will cheer her more towards a full recovery. All the best:)the”eh”team;)
Thankyou for answering a bizzare question about the lanterns, while they impress a lot of people I just see them as floating fire hazards that will one day float into a skyrise flat and its burning curtains for someone,or even get sucked into an engine.
Hi 568crew….Its a favourite aircraft of mine also and was pleased to hear your looking after one.The little J.P used to run all over the area when I was a nipper up at Newcastle -Upon Tyne and my wife comes from the town they were built at during there hey day,Luton.
Its a great little aircraft with which the British aircraft industry can be proud of even today as many private PPL flyers can convert on it to fly other jets such as the gnat.I did a little write up on it on another web site a while ago and have put a link to it. http://www.militaryairshows.co.uk/jpfactsheet.htm . other than to wish you good luck with the work you do to restore the one your working, happy new year….John B..I used john Luke in a former time as these are the first two christian names of my proper handle.I never liked to use my real name in case I dropped too many clangers.:):rolleyes:
Lovely selection and such a change from what we normally see day to day. Thanks ENML and all the best….John.B
WP840….yes I agree about the red white scheme being better and more appealing to look at than some of the black they paint trainers today. My real favourite was the silver and dayglo look and its a pity we dont see a gnat or provost done in this way as there are plenty about and most seem to evade this mid 60s livery or call it what you like.
Did you have any flights in the chippy your avatar shows?.Cheers….John.B
