My first real good close up from Duxford and anywhere else come to think of it.:)
Having seen some really good copies and scans of old images from other enthusiasts on this thread it prompted me to try and get to grips with my copying and try and improve my editing skills.I took the 111 photo down and redone it as best as possible and so along with a couple of others you can judge for yourself if they are cosha or as near as damit.:):)

Yankee Echo Sierra, little play on words to make one answer.catch of the year for me.Well done again Keith.:)
Yes a nice photo with out doubt. The nice cloud backdrop with the catchy green graphics and to top it off a good angle.Worth the wait in this cold weather Keith so well done.Cheers…JB
Hello Steve….I have replied to your p.m and hope this might clear up any misunderstanding between us. Thank-you anyway for your help and information already supplied….Johnb.
Just the one to add to this really colourful and interesting thread
🙂
Nice little set again Keith and like the two reds image.
Thanks to HP81,Darren,keithnewsome and Peter De Neeuw and the info from interflug and others for the brilliant nostalgic photos and memories of some lovely looking oldtimers.
Peter welcome to the site and the viscount photo is “uitstekend junge” bedankt and A.U.B nog meeer.:)Hope you can decipher that bit at the end.Cheers..JB:confused::eek::)Peter what scanner are you using.?
I’m glad we got that sorted out civilspotter and maybe that little spell I lived in Bussum, Nord Holland repaid me a visit as well:rolleyes::).Happy days I recall watching football in a pub in Amsterdam called the “three musketeers” run by some ex-pats near to the central station.
Some lovely photos again from yourself,HP81 and Darren.Tot de kikje junge, een boralje on ma bonatje.Dont know if that little blurb is correct as it was in 77 during my roaming days, but you get my gist….Cheers….JB:cool::)
Hi Civilspotter..I dropped a massive clanger with that photo I could have sworn was yours and got it mixed up with a trident photo. Please exscuse me and what can only be described as the early onset of dementure squeezing in with this freezing weather we are having lately.
Just to highlight my bad timing and recognition of situations I had to attend a rather sad event and when it was all over with, I promptly wished everyone a happy christmas:eek: in a very inappropriate moment. Once again my apologies and hope you can see with humour the error of my ways.:)..JB
Hi civilspotter and I have just got round to looking at this thread again to answer your question.Yes I am positive it was the same 727 shot in the magazine,”classic Airliner” which if I’m certain it said it was the second issue. It was at the back in an article which covered the history of Newcastle Airport or it was highlighting some photos taken at Birmingham airport, am a little uncertain now as its a couple of days now since I glanced through the copy. Unless someone else took the same photo from the exact spot,”which I doubt” then the photo is yours I’m certain.
Do you give copy images to any libraries of your images?.Your D.C8s were magic to see as were your J.A.T stuff Darren. In the mid seventies these used to fly into Newcastle a lot during the summer holiday season and the flight staff were always kind to give us some free bottles of their lager which was still a treat and rarity in those days.My one regret now from those times in the 70s was not being interested in photography.
Was this machine constructed on site or elsewhere such as “Bentwaters”.thanks in advance for any reply.:)
Yep your on the money civilspotter about that error and I keep making the same mistake over and over with that one.Anyhow that dan air 727 is now a world famous photo as theres no mistaking to a sighting of the same photograph I saw in the second issue of “classic airliner” in Smiths this afternoon.
The Bristol freighter is a very nostalgic shot and I remember one of these as a kit to build and a certain viewer will find the il 62 bearing his site name interesting. Thanks for sharing such good scans from the past .Cheers,.JB.:)
Hey Darren…. if you were taking these as a kid I hope your taking photos for a living as that B/Cal Tri star with brakes and smoke is beautiful. At the moment I’m in retro mode listening to Dire straits and Telegraph Road looking at your photo’s and it’s been an eye opener to your skills.
So back to well a long time ago came a man with a camera on his back Ha,ha:) ..Cheers..JB
hey what a catch keith with that S92 in its primer form, nice crisp clear photos and the little robin looks good against the snowy background. We,ll have to nickname you “Ron Gallalo” of the plane papparazzi world.:)….JB
