Thanks for looking and it eventually caught someone’s attention on the other site.I was telling them how I used to stop at the small ind.,est next to the 07 approach end and go into the now late Ian Mcfarlanes alladins cave of aviation goody’s.
There was a carousel tree in the shop with all sorts of slides for sale of civil and Mil., types and wish now in hindsight I had bought some of his stuff as he didn’t mind how they may have been used once sold so long as he got credited.The little photo must have brought back some memories of your days on shift at STN as you could help yourself those days to any left over meals if you didn’t want to cough up for your own lunch.:)
Glad you liked the manx one EGTC and have a horrible feeling I have chucked the baby out with the bath water when I had to clear the garage out and there was a box full of old slides in amongst that lot that might have gone to the tip:eek::confused::o.anyway back to the search of steptoe’s back yard alias the garage to try and allay my worst thoughts.All those years running up and down the country with nothing but a warm glow inside thinking some of my best work is in that box to be summed up by the other half by saying is’nt it time you got rid of some of that”sh..e” as you never look at it:rolleyes::)Only to be followed with “is this all your going to do” for the rest of the day when you have found some gems and you are trying to recall those happier times.:mad::)Cheers..JB
