Hi Blue 2,car isnt mine though and just happened to pass it in the fair city of Durham one day years ago.As it happened some bloke was taking photos of it for something or other and I just happened to have my AE1 and snapped a couple.

Got to be honest the chap found an excellent backdrop for his car and I sort of like the photo as it was a picture just waiting to be taken.:)

Couple more from me and one I couldnt resist including is of the group of photographers who were snapped at Waddington on a press thursday some years ago.I focused in on the chap with the specs in his mouth as he stood aghast that there was a really poor flying programme organised for the day.Maybe one or two planes had taken to the skies and that was it and we’ll see you all on the weekend and that was it.

I couldnt help noticing the faces of disbelief amongst the snappers and especially his as he seemed to say everything that everyone felt, its funny now but it was’nt at the time as a lot of people had taken a lot of effort to get there from all parts of the country.I think this was the year all freedoms allowed to the photographers were stopped and the upper echelon at Waddo didnt know what to do with the people invited to take photographs other then to send them on there way,hey ho thats life.:)Last time I was there as it was a bit like being treated like a sheep being herded from pen to pen with only the T.V people getting access that was needed to come away with some decent shots.

Its so sad that they have to tape off nearly every bit of land round the base outside on public ground and roads just to heard people in.It would be nice if they relaxed some of there rules especially in a climate as ours today and let people happily enjoy there hobby on perhaps the one day that they may be there out of 364 they wont:rolleyes::cool::).Anyway the moan over here are a few from the past and I hope you like. P.S…. Is that the Meteor called Winston that went to Australia or was it new Zealand.? http://i1026.photobucket.com/albums/y322/billyjack_2010/IMG_4651.jpghttp://i1026.photobucket.com/albums/y322/billyjack_2010/IMG_4662_1.jpghttp://i1026.photobucket.com/albums/y322/billyjack_2010/IMG_4652_1_1.jpghttp://i1026.photobucket.com/albums/y322/billyjack_2010/CNV00016.jpghttp://i1026.photobucket.com/albums/y322/billyjack_2010/CNV00006.jpghttp://i1026.photobucket.com/albums/y322/billyjack_2010/000080.jpg 🙂

Good book on some of the projects undertaken duringWW2 by the Germans and some myths about UFO’s by Tim Matthews covering a wide range of really well researched subjects concerning UFO ufology.

Called”UFO Revelation” ISBN 0-7137-2733-0 its worth a read as it exposes some interesting facts that would be unknown otherwise to the reading of the book.:)

    How yu gannin hinnie,
Thanks for vote of confidence on the pic side of things but the Canberra is a common a garden P.R.9 whos life began in prototype form from a converted P.R.7 which was WH 793 first flight July 1955.P.R9s with the registration starting from XH129 were built by Harlands and Short in Belfast so “XH134” fell in this group.
I recently found out the offset cockpit arrangement was devised and concluded upon in that it being easier to design and fit this type rather than upset the whole mechanism of the centraly based flight steering system.Hope you have’nt fallen asleep yet Steve but sometimes I find it interesting to spout a couple of facts as I’ve only just found out about this on the P.R.9 and I’m not really a technocrat(my hobby being photography).:).
Well its back to the Easter celebrations.:)

After a trawl through my discs I found some not so bad examples from my early experiments with the heath robinson type sight I was explaining about to Mike Curril.
They are from Waddington 2006 and taken with a Canon powershot S1/is 3 megapics compact. http://i1026.photobucket.com/albums/y322/billyjack_2010/IMG_2283.jpghttp://i1026.photobucket.com/albums/y322/billyjack_2010/IMG_2266.jpghttp://i1026.photobucket.com/albums/y322/billyjack_2010/IMG_2255.jpg :rolleyes::confused:

Some lovely shots to inspire the likes of us that dont have many civvy planes on file.Like the LBA ones, especially the offset headon one about to touchdown and the lone photographer in the cemetry.

I had a similar problem with a three megapic Canon and solved the panning and click moment with a piece of plastic pipe and some bluetac.Cut a small piece of plastic piping more then a 1/4 inch wide and about 1/2 an inch long.Put a small amount of bluetac on your camera at the top of the camera away from the pop up flash and tack the small piece of pipe on the bluetac and you have created a basic sighting method.
Next just zero in the sight with a couple of shots in the garden and youll be able to still track an aircraft in the sight while the shutter lag takes place but youll still have been able to track the plane at that all important moment up until you click.I practised this a couple of times on passing cars.It does work and if youve got a slight problem with the spondolix and you cant purchase a DSLR it will at least keep you going till you can.:);):rolleyes:I used a piece of an old biro as my sight.
