So, it may be true that Dassault didn’t lie to Indian government about the price of Rafale, and 10 billion USD may be enough for procuring 126 Rafale at the time of 2012 ~ Fighter only without any other training, supporting, base setting, domestic producing, or weapon procuring cost
Too many bad news for Eurofighter recently…..
Interview: French procurement chief Laurent Collet-Billon on the pursuit of a European defense
By: Pierre Tran, June 18, 2017
There is [the] Tornado replacement for Germany by 2035, and then Eurofighter and Rafale replacement in 2040-45. And before 2035, the question of UCAV has also to be addressed. How do we arrange a common roadmap? There will be dialog with other European countries, the start of a long road.
Or we can assume that the future european fighter program will be hopeless if the countries like UK, Italy, and Spain etc. finally decide their future fighters shall be ” Buy American only”…….
Simply speaking, Austrians want 18 “new” fighters with the whole life program cost of around 3 billion Euros, including the procurement cost, the training cost, the logistics cost, and the operating cost of 30 years.
