There are several references pointing to the fitting of bomb carriers and bombs to Tiger Moths which when initially trialled was found to disrupt airflow over the tail surfaces affecting spin recovery, the strakes were as a result of this for RAF Tigers, with the bombs fitted there is also the question of changes in C of G affecting spin recovery.

Demise of G-APKN
A shame my dad was using b&w film at the time – does anyone know what the colour scheme was at this time (maybe the same as G-AHSO)? I have seen a photo on the ‘net of it in silver and red but don’t know when that was taken.
Mudmover – how much of G-APKN is left?
Whilst at Felthorpe immediately prior to the arson attack,’KN was red, white and silver.
Photo taken today.
Freddo’s got a strop on then!

Can’t agree with the’nicest handling aircraft’ tag-I flew ‘ARBS’ several times while it was based at RAF Swanton Morley, found it stoogey with poor vis in a turn but nonetheless a very pretty aeroplane when a tail dragger. Now where’s my J1N!
Is it at T/O with the gear photoshopped out, there’s a lot of aileron input, could be a crosswind but also opposition to propeller torque?
MH 434 nightstopped there Fri night, now back at Dux
