So very sad.
I can’t tell you how sad I feel at this moment. I just don’t know what to say. Just that I met Steve a few times and found him easy to talk to, and very likable. A really nice chap. It is a truly sad day. So very unfair.
My heart felt condolences go to Julie and his family at this tragic time.
Vanessa.
Stand corrected…it’s been a while since I have seen it to be honest. But lines like that do stay with you don’t they? 😀
Another one sprang to mind in one of the doctor Carry Ons – where Peter Gilmore, (playing the lecherous ambulance driver), sees Barbara Windsor, (the pretty young nurse), walking along eating some fruit and he says ‘Oh! What a lovely pear!’ (Barbara Windsor being a tad gifted in the chest area!) 😀
Well, it just wouldn’t be allowed nowadays would it?
🙂

Jim Dale–“It’s just behind that cart pulled by cows”
Bernard Breslau-“Bullocks Sir”
Jim Dale–“No it is, honestly”.‘Carry on up the Khyber’ I think.
Have you also noticed that the Kenneth Williams character in that was ‘The Khazi’ and the president of Afghanistan is called Khazi.
Whenever he appears on the news my wife (big Carry On fan) shouts “It’s the Khazi”
Such is life in the Jones household.
Cheers
Andy
Yeah! It’s true, it’s true!
Nah Jonesy! The best line is…
‘Infamy! Infamy! They’ve all got it in for me!’ Kenneth Williams (again) – ‘Carry on Caesar’, I believe!
Hysterical!

Sorry – too simplistic!
The last PM that fought a US president came a cropper. Know your country’s history!
He (Bush) had us by the short and curlies. They always have us by the short and curlies!! We are still paying for ‘the special relationship’.
Naive, really naive.
This is not a crisitcism to all our friends over the pond either. It’s economics, plain and simple. We are little, they are huge.
Any PM would have done the same, they (we) cant do anything else!

I hope it’s a good day for you Mike.

Indeed Melv!
Bums on seats, laddy! Bums on seats!
🙂
So interesting …Thanks Dave.
Old Popov sounded quite a character.
Have you been to the UK? Bletchly Park is a ‘must do’ if you haven’t as yet but do get over here in the future. Andy and I went there a while back and found it fascinating.
Thank you for posting.

Poor Kylie, but well done Kylie!
I am so impressed at her being so open about it. I’m sure her bravery in announcing this will help fund raising and also just raising the profile of this terrible disease.
It killed my grandmother in 1971 and the huge in-roads that have developed since then make me feel that Kylie will probably come through this. I certainly hope so.

I only saw one fly once. It was over my parents house near Clacton-on-Sea. Must have been summer 1988. Didn’t know what it was, but I was completely awestruck!
I talked about it to everyone I knew, but they had no idea what it was either. Then I met the Jones Boy, I described it and he told me ALL about them! We went to Mildenhall for the airshows but each time they weren’t flying.
Really disappointed not to have seen a display…(but you could say I had my own little display in my parents front garden, much as it was!)
Fantastic! I will never forget it.
🙂
Chubby thing?
Me or the aeroplane?
Saw a Chubby red-faced thing there this morning, it was Bridget.
😀 😀
Love it!
He called last night insisting that I go with him next year and from the pictures here I can see why! It’s a date, Jonesy!
(Wow…an actual 109! 😮 )
Definitely a must do!
🙂
Wonderful to see.
Thank you.
Really a pity not being there to see them myself.
Where would we be without you guys…?
🙂
