When did the LCA become my project
If there is any kind of insecurity then your little nationalistic display of idiocy wins it hands down! It goes to show that one cannot accept the idea of criticizing an aircraft and not the country of origin 😉
as for my penis, would you like a picture? I’ll gladly send one to you but your parents might catch you licking the monitor they worked so hardly to buy for you little girls.

Yah..I bet you do send pictures of your penis to little girls on the net, don’t you? what a sicko.

based on what source? btw no one said the Flanker was a stealth plane you lovely piece of cow poo *eats you*

It’ll be fun to see the Indians looking like this –> next year when the FC1/JF17 is unveiled in final form, and the J10A/B/C come online, and sold to Pakistan. It was awesome seeing them red with envy and anger when China launched a man to outer-space. 😀

Notice this guy Hamburger gets very personal calling people idiot, etc. It shows he is extremely an insecure person, and most likely has a small penis. 😛

Hamburger, no matter how much you vent and insult people here, the JF17 is going forward, and will be inducted soon, and leave your pitiful LCA project behind. You can’t stop it. 😀

Indians must think if they type hard enough, the JF17 will go away. 😀

I think the RD33 is only a temporary engine, not a permanent one. Once a Chinese equivalent is ready (WS13??) they will be using that of course. And if so, TVC is not out of the question since they have developed one for the WS10A.

I’ve always wondered this. If PAF sells XX # of JF17s, who gets the revenue? China or Pakistan? Or is it split? If China sells XX # of FC1s, likewise, who gets the revenue?

Why would conformal tanks require more weight than 3 attached fuel tanks?

IFR could still be used but a more permanent solution would be using conformal tanks. Then you have 3 pylons free for other pods or weapons.

The J10 has a pathetic 4 pylons left for weapons if 3 center pylons are used for fuel. And the intake pylons if they really exist seem too small to use for anything else but dumb bombs!

Isn’t stealth a simple concept? If USA could build a F117 in th 1970s, I think China today can build a stealth fighter with at least equivalent stealth of an F117? It’s just a matter of avoiding right angles so that radar waves are not reflected back directly. And the use of carbons, internal storage of weapons/bombs, and RAM painting.

Maybe I have a better LCD monitor or something. Try adjusting your monitor settings because on my monitor, the trail is not small. It extends from the engine outward all the way to form a thin line.

Or what you can do is open the pix in a paint program and perform a negative image effect, and the trail is much more visible.

Ok, GD. I agree. But there were rumours of first prototype in Pak. Anyway, those that see smoke should buy a new screen…

About the size… Wow. It is small…

Nope. It definitely has a smoke trail. I see it clearly on my LCD monitor, and it’s no mistake either.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens when the FC1/JF17 matches against the LCA, which will win? I think the two planes are very comparable with similar abilities. Since Pakistan is supposed to have better pilots, I think JF17 will win! 😀

Notice the FC1 still has a smokey engine. I thought they were fixed that on the later models. So it must be an older prototype. Not the newer ones.

Ha ha ha.. Superior!!!!!! thats why they seemed to be so excited about Su-30mkk-3 So acoridng to U it is because its out of sheer love that China has for Father Russia and is making purchases from Russia to demonstrate that.

Yes it is superior because for 40 years China has been successfull in recycling MiG21 and SU-17 again and again???

Is it superior because it still continues to produce AN-12’s???

No No J-XX is still superior because it will be China who would be demonstrating “Plasma Stealth” technology to the world for the first time???

Now u talk of Designs??? Out of How many actual design envisaged by china
    have developed into FIGHTER PLANES????????

Speaking of Chinese designs, let’s get back to the topic. I think China’s FC1/JF17 is a pretty cool aircraft at a great price. To answer your question Infiinity, it seems like China’s on quite a roll lately. First the J10. Now FC1. In about 10-15 years, we’ll see J12 and/or J13. And it will probably be very cheap in comparison to the F22. A 70% capable Chinese Raptor for about 40-50 million. Sounds like a winner to me. 3 J13 against 1 Raptor. Which will win? My money’s on the J13. 🙂

Also Remember predictions that J-XX would end up as JV btw China & Russia
or another Russian design/tech bought and painted in chinese colours!!!
    Wait till J-XX comes!!

No. We have seen official wind tunnel model photos of one JXX design. We’ve also seen pictures of subsystems that will be used for JXX such as the WS10A engine with TVC. These are much more than just rumors or predictions. These at the minimum prove that the Chinese intend to go alone on the JXX project. Whether they will be successful or not is another question.

But the fact that they intend to go alone proves that the Chinese feel they have enough technological capability to independently design and build a stealth fighter! If they were not, they would join Russia who has asked China to participate along with India, but the Chinese have rejected that offer!

So what does this all say to you?

It tells us that the Chinese, who know Russian technology firsthand, are at comparable levels with the Russians.

Frankly, China who has had access to western technology such as radar, avionics via Israel are probably ahead in some subsystems. That’s why Chinese built J11’s are superior to Russian SU27.

    > I don’t think Russia is ahead of China anymore

    * russia/ussr has developed and fielded dozens of engine types
    * dozens of competitive fighter types
    * dozens of advanced missile types
    * dozens of radars
    * dozens of large aircraft upto the AN-225 level
    * dozens of successful SAM types

china does a better job in commerical manufacturing but in the military
area, Russia is still far ahead. thats why china is still spending billions of
$$ in buying up russian arms and trying to collaborate in many programs.

Name a few chinese defence products made totally locally that are equal or better than what russia has on the table today.

Hmm..think for yourself why the Chinese would choose to develop the JXX by itself instead of joining the Russians?

What are the implications of this?

well, i think it is almost a certainty that the front two points will eventually be used for laser and nav pods (cos i doubt that even the most hardcore of the PLA hardliners will be that comfortable carpet bombing major cities in the event of a conflict). from the paper diagram, it would appear that the rear two could also be used to hang AAMs (maybe even BVRAAMs), but we need to see an actual pic of the rear points to be sure of that.

That’d be cool if the J10 can hang 2 or more AAM on it’s forward or rear center hardpoints. With only 7 hardpoints on it’s wing and center fuselage, that’s only about 4 AAM with 3 fuel tanks. It’s too bad the J10 doesn’t have wing tips. Maybe Chengdu should do an F16 style conformal tanks upgrade on the J10 so it doesn’t need more than 1 fuel tank in the center. With over 12,500KG max thrust, the J10 should be able to handle it.
