    Thanks all for sharing.

Yakrider, hope you are feeling better.

BlueRobin, nice plane. Are all GB GA a/c tailnumbers/callsign with letters only with the Golf prefix?

    Hiya 182man

    1stly

I fly warriors, like 90% of the population it seems 🙂

Nothing flash, airways compatible with FM immune etc

    2ndly

To change your name click on “User CP at the top left of the page on the bar, then click “Edit Profile” then in the 2nd box dow you will see a space for you to type a new “Custom User Title”, just put it in there and click ok 🙂

It should work, if not give me a shout

    Dean

    Dean, thanks.

When I go to User CP and select Edit Profile, I do not see “Custom User Title”. Perhaps my PC does not display all of the options.

I see in the first box “edit email & password”

Then optional info with the following
Box 2 = Birth date (Year of birth optional)
    Home Page URL box
    Instant Messaging (4 slots)

    Then “additional Info
    Biography
    Location
    Interests
    Occupation

Followed by options to Save or Reset fields

Clearly, I am missing something. Thanks for your help.

While you’re changing settings, 182man, you might want to look at your birthdate. Being born in 1992 would make you rather young to be a licensed pilot

    Birthday:
    5th July 1992

srP, I noticed that if I leave the year of birth blank, it defaults to 1992.

If you are going to be flying in the US, try this

    http://adds.aviationweather.noaa.gov/

or the AOPA website and its links to DUAT.

182man, you only need a web site to host the piccies on at the moment as the facility to post images on this forum is down. When it is running again you should be able to post them without too much trouble. If you still, like me, use wet film you will need a scanner but otherwise should not be hard.

Mike, thanks for that heads up. I was never good with wet film, so, I moved on to digi stuff and have an old SONY 1.2 mpixel camera. Seems to be reasonably fine given my rudimentary photography skills.

Welcome 182man. Nice to see another new arrival. Obviously you do not value your sanity or you would not have registered for this forum, not to worry you won’t have it long enough to worry about anyway

Thank you all for your welcome. It is deeply appreciated. I love flying and got into it rather recently. Got my Private (VFR) in July of ’03 and IFR rating in Jan ’04. So, I am a newbie to flying. I have just over 450 hrs total. Since my IFR rating, I fly almost exclusively under IFR flight plan even on VFR days. I just want as much time in our ATC as possible.

My wife and I are looking to fly in foreign lands and last year, bec of business reasons, had to cancel a trip to SAfrica as part of a group-fly safari. We had rented a C182 there but never go to go bec work ($$) comes first. You see, my wife and I, unlike R. Weaver :D, do not have any inheritance at all. Just our sanity.

And speaking of sanity, my non-flying friends think we have left our sanity behind the day we stepped into a cockpit and do so everytime we defy gravity.
    😎

I am llooking forward to some interesting discussions. I have a few pics but I do not know how to post them on the web. I believe I first need to have some sort of site to host the pics and then they have to be linked here. I will work on getting that first part done first.

You’ll have to lead us through this one a bit

    Kings Lynn / West Midlands?

    Kuala Lumpur With Malaysia?

    Kute Little Wilderness Metropolis?

    Moggy 😉

Kute Little Wilderness Metropolis? that’ funny.

Sorry. It is Lawrence, Massachusetts, a nice Class D airport (RNYs 5 & 23, 14 & 32) just north of the Boston Bravo Airspace.

    Welcome 🙂

I presume you both fly a 182? (Quick to catch on huh?)

    Moggy

Thanks for the Welcome. 182man – the limit of my creativity 😀

Yes, a 2002 Skylane based at KLWM. Bought her new, is IFR certified with Dual navs, MFD, Stormscope, Traffic and Terrain, Weather uplink (the works) and a real pleasure to fly the bird. Wife and I have flown her about 650 hrs in the past 27 months and have enjoyed every minute of it.

YOU’RE curious about the delightful Ruprecht!! Not as much as us although there is a suspicion that (s)he is another forum member in disguise! According to another thread currently running, there is also a suspicion that he and Flying Chick are married!!

Yes, I did peruse that thread (long one at that). Quite interesting indeed especially the part about FC and RW being married
    😀

Exactly! Excuse me for being a trifle simplistic but surely bits are more likely to fall off that way?!

That’ what I told my son & wife when they wanted to train on Helos. They both went ahead with it anyway. 🙁

Wonder if the Pilot considered pulling the BRS all-airplane chute in the SR22?

As they say, there are old pilots and then there are “bold” pilots, but very few old and “bold” pilots.

Flying is fun, but often unforgiving when simple stuff like W&B are ignored.
