I would suggest using the ETPS Association to get the test pilots in your list. Unfortunately I had heard Alan Pollock may be no longer with us. I met him in 1990 when we unveiled a memorial…what a chap and so devoted to RAF history. Are you doing something Hunter based old bean?!
David Lockspeiser does consultancy so a web search should bring up some contacts. He came to our museum last year for the Hunter birthday bash and sat in my Hunter (which he first flew in 1956!). We also had Neville Duke and Duncan Simpson and many other greats.
Thanx chaps…..I have the latest edition of Spit The History and unfortunately it cannot help either! I shall check out my Putnams book (probably no good either!). Other Peter Arnold here I come.
Have fun chaps!
Tony

RE: The Next Forum Get-together
Gary
you forget that I could give you a lift if I’m around and possibly we and Seafuryfan could end up going places to meet the others!!!
Hendon would be a great place…..I have found cheap hotel rooms on the net so a boys (and Mrs Dezz of course!!) trip in Lundung could be amusing!!
I like the idea of someone starting a thread sayingwhere and when they are going and others can make it….a sort of Forum Getogether Roadshow!!

RE: What’s this about Susannah?
FWIW I sent this…..sorry if its sounds too pleading!!!!
————–
I hope you are the right person to contact, but we (a huge band of aviation fans) really need MGM to release the Battle of Britain Film on DvD (1969 – starring Sir Michael Caine, Lord Olivier, Susannah York, Sir Ralph Richardson, Kenneth Moore and many many more stars). Our videos are worn out and the video is no longer available.
It would be a top seller as there are many fans of not only the film, aeroplanes, the Battle of Britain but also of the stars.
There are also loads of extras that could be added on too….including a 50 minute publicity documentary released 4 days before the film premiered, the alternate Sir William Walton Score and the assorted fim theatre trailers.
Please, please pass this email onto the person who could make this dream come true for us all!!!
many regards
Tony
RE: Wizard Prang Ashley and Tony!
Thanx for the kind words…..but Ashley deserves the lion share.
It was a great day and Seafuryfan & I remarked in the car that it was the first time a trip to Duxford did not involve anytime in the hangars or looking at planes!!
Robert’s talk was superb and as others say the time flew by.
It would be great to do another in warmer times (say, around Legends time). Perhaps with a behind the scenes look at IWM and (hint) HAC, TFC and/or OFMC. We could do that on the weekend before legends perhaps? (By doing that, I can stage through Duxford for the get together, spend a night, bomb up farer north to tour some museums and then do legends on the way back!!!!).
Regards to all and thanx to all for making the day a success and such fun
Tony
RE: IWM 190 refurbishment
Thanx Ant….I recently saw a mag say that the Fw190 was done by TFC….but logically I don’t think they had any deals with IWM back then so bow my head in shame!
Anyone notice the Henschel HS129 cockpit section in this months Flypast (in a view of the Oz museum).?
regards… best get to bed…long day tommorrow!!
>Hi Tony,
